Josh lay back on the bed, just settling down, when suddenly he felt an extremely sinister presence approaching.
This was not one of those trifling ghostly creatures.
Josh remained outwardly calm but tensed with vigilance, quietly gripping the long knife beside him under the covers.
An elderly sigh echoed from all directions, as if mixed in the wind, impossible to detect unless listened to carefully.
Outside the door came the sound of a woman's high heels on the floor, slowly approaching.
In the group chat, Rob suddenly tagged Josh: [Did you hear any footsteps?]
Josh: [I heard it.]
Rob: [Boohoo I'm scared, can you come to my room and sleep with me, I'm in room 9.]
Josh didn't respond, just focused on the footsteps outside.
If she remembered correctly, the corridor outside was carpeted thickly, and no matter how hard high heels hit, they couldn't make such a crisp sound on the floor.
"Knock knock knock," the sound of knocking came from outside, but it wasn't on Josh's door.
