Yuze glanced at the statue and shook his head, "No, why?"
Josh shook his head, "I can't quite put my finger on it, just that it feels weird. There's definitely something wrong with this statue."
Upon hearing this, Yuze said, "I'll go up and take a look."
He nimbly climbed onto the offering table and leaned closer to the statue.
The pitch-black night was illuminated by the moonlight spilling through the window, casting a cold hue over the statue.
Suddenly, there was a faint noise outside the door.
Someone was coming towards the center of the ancestral hall.
There was the sound of a lock being opened on the central door.
Josh and Yuze exchanged a glance and he decisively reached out, pulling him onto the table.
The two quickly slipped behind the statue, using the stone-carved mermaid tail to shield their bodies.
The door was gently pushed open, and two shadowy figures sneaked in.
