Melody Thorne hung up the phone. Harold Chapman had already confirmed that it was indeed Congressman Gu.
"Don't contact him just yet!" Jared Quinn took her phone. "First, have Harold Chapman's people spread the word that you indeed have the item. Wait for him to contact you on his own!"
"But... I'm worried."
"It's alright, trust me!"
In less than half a day, Congressman Gu couldn't maintain his composure and called Melody Thorne.
"I heard the item is in your possession. I went through quite an ordeal to verify this and checked on you multiple times, yet you managed to slip through!"
"It's fine, I have the item, and I'm already aware of its purpose." Melody Thorne smirked, "Moreover, I'm going to use it well. Right now everyone suspects you've falsely accused the Hawthorne Family, so even if I release it publicly, no one would dare arrest me."
