"Jared Quinn," Melody Thorne raised her head. If it were anyone else, she would surely have returned it. But this was Mrs. Thorne and Rochelle Thorne, and she didn't want Mrs. Thorne to have any trouble just after coming back.
Jared coldly glanced sideways at her, colder than at any other time.
However, the next sentence from Melody shattered his icy facade.
"It hurts..." She raised an arm to show him, her naturally soft voice tinged with a hint of pity. Even if the man before her had a heart of steel, it would surely melt.
Sure enough, the thin ice in Jared's eyes immediately shattered. His large hand gripped her arm, checking for injuries.
When he pulled her back, Melody's arm had already hit the ground. Nothing seemed wrong on the outside, but the bones inside ached.
"It's probably a bit shaken," Melody gazed pitifully at the man in front of her, her eyes like autumn waters.
Jared fiercely closed his eyes, his voice hardened, "Serves you right."
