"It's said that in the Galar region, there are Regi Pokémon sleeping there—beings completely different from the ones the public recognizes."
Scott spoke up, scratching his cheek. "But that's just what I've heard. I don't know what the real situation is like. What I can confirm is that the ruins where they're sleeping are in a place called the Crown Tundra."
"The Crown Tundra, huh?"
Hearing the familiar name, Grey's mind immediately pulled up what he knew.
The Crown Tundra lay in the southern part of the Galar region.
It was where Calyrex lived, and Glastrier and Spectrier were there too.
And most importantly—the Galarian forms of the three Legendary Birds were there as well!
Among them, Galarian Zapdos was a Fighting/Flying type, with an incredible running speed.
If he ever got the chance, Grey really did want to go catch Galarian Zapdos.
It was one of the very few Legendary Pokémon that had the Fighting type!
If he could catch it, his overall combat power would definitely increase a lot.
"You know that place, Dojo Master Grey?" Scott asked.
"I've heard of it. And I've heard there are a lot of legendary Pokémon around there. If I ever have time, I'd like to go take a look myself."
Grey wasn't just saying that—he genuinely wanted to visit the Galar region.
Not just the Crown Tundra, either. He also wanted to go to the Isle of Armor.
But Mustard wouldn't have time until later. He'd have to wait until he could find a free window.
And recently, that was impossible.
He still had to go pick someone up at the airport tonight, and for the next two or three days he'd probably be taking Caitlin around.
Plus, the Gym contest tournament would start in a week. After that, he'd still have to make a trip to the Unova region.
In other words—no time.
"In that case, I'll go check it out myself after a while and see what's real," Brandon said. "If I find anything, I'll contact you."
Brandon also needed to make a trip to the Hoenn region soon.
After he caught Registeel and Regice, then he'd consider heading to the Galar region.
For now, all he could do was set a plan for those two unknown pillars.
As for when he'd actually go catch them—who knew.
"Alright. It's a deal."
Grey and Brandon exchanged contact information.
After finishing lunch at the Battle Pyramid, Grey prepared to leave.
He didn't have any plans for the rest of the day. He was going back to work on raising his third team.
Before long, this group of little rookies would be starting their own Gym challenge run, so he wanted to do some special training first to get them used to it.
"Dojo Master Grey, I'll walk you out," Brandon said.
With that, Brandon escorted Grey out of the Battle Pyramid.
He watched Grey leave until his figure disappeared completely.
"Ah… another freakishly gifted new Trainer," Scott sighed as he ambled over, staring at Grey's fading back with a deep sense of emotion.
"A new Trainer?" Brandon frowned. "Grey does look young, but he's not that new, is he?"
In the battle just now, Brandon could feel how experienced Grey was—calm, controlled, and completely at ease.
It didn't look like a beginner's style at all.
One word: steady.
The timing on bringing in the rain and setting the field had also been extremely sharp.
It almost completely ruled out the idea of Grey being a new Trainer.
And then Scott suddenly said Grey was a new Trainer.
How was that possible? Was Scott joking?
"Mr. Brandon, do you think I'm kidding?" Scott asked with a half-smile. He shook his shoulders and lowered his voice. "Here's a little local 'hot fact' only people around here know—since Dojo Master Grey got his first Pokémon, it hasn't even been three months."
"What?"
Even Brandon, known for being steady, was stunned.
"Isn't that some fake rumor from a Saffron City clickbait account?"
Brandon frowned. He knew Scott wouldn't lie about something like this…
But still…
Less than three months since getting his first Pokémon, and he'd already caught Zapdos and Articuno, and even had an Elite Four-level main team?
That was hard to believe.
Brandon thought about it—he'd spent a long time building up Elite Four-level strength himself.
But why did it feel like, in the Kanto region…
Absurd people were just appearing more and more?
First there was Red and Blue, and now Grey.
"Kanto really is hiding a lot…" Brandon muttered.
"Well, it's Kanto," Scott said, not particularly surprised. "The League's birthplace. Having Trainers with ridiculous talent like that is normal."
Scott wasn't from Kanto, but he knew it had been a long time since Kanto produced a truly freakish Trainer.
For years it had been stuck in a lull.
And when things hit the extreme, they bounce back—so after several decades, people like Red and Blue appeared.
Now there was Grey too. That was normal enough.
"So what's the deal with those Regi Pokémon?" Brandon asked. "If I remember right, you only wander around Kanto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. How did you suddenly get involved with the Galar region?"
Something about this felt off.
As far as Brandon knew, Scott had nothing to do with the Galar region at all.
"About that," Scott said, waving his phone around, "it's because I've got this 'friend's friend who knows a boss whose younger brother' over there. Sounds like they're trying to do some kind of exploration, found those ruins, and now they're stuck with no leads. So I thought of you—you're an expert at exploring ruins."
"That's… a pretty distant connection," Brandon said, his forehead practically sprouting black lines.
"Hey, the more friends, the more paths," Scott said cheerfully. "I've heard that guy's also a Champion-level Trainer. Who knows—maybe you'll end up having some kind of connection too."
Scott kept his relaxed, smiling attitude.
That was how businessmen were. Knowing more people was always a good thing.
...
...
Saffron City, Fighting Dojo.
[Sleeping Beauty: I'm already on the plane! I should arrive in Saffron City around early morning! Does the dojo have an empty guest room? I want to just stay at your place then, and talk more with Sabrina. Is that okay?]
Caitlin sent a message.
Grey read it once, then got up to check the dojo's guest rooms.
There were six rooms total. Grey, Sabrina, and Silver each had their own.
Bumiao and Green were currently sharing.
That left exactly one empty room.
Grey walked up to the vacant guest room, leaned his head in, and looked it over.
It was cleaned regularly, so it was neat and tidy—just missing a blanket.
[Dojo Annihilape: No problem. I'll get it sorted out and grab you some clean bedding and pillows too. You won't have trouble getting used to it, right?]
