Natalie Vaughn noticed something different about Zane Thorne this time, and a faint sense of panic rose in her heart. She reached out, steadying herself against Zane's shoulder.
"Wait a moment."
Zane caught Natalie's hand and brought it to his mouth for a kiss.
"Baby, can't wait."
As he spoke, Zane's eyes suddenly turned dark, his breathing grew chaotic, and his breath became heavier.
Natalie wasn't unwilling, she was just startled by Zane's eagerness.
"I want to take a shower."
Zane held Natalie close, pressing her against himself, burying his head in the crook of her neck, kissing her shoulder repeatedly, even giving her a playful bite.
Natalie frowned in pain. Seeing Zane's disregard, she had no choice but to say it coldly.
"You smell terrible!"
Predictably, Zane stopped immediately, and fortunately, the bathtub water was ready. He wrapped Natalie in his arms and carried her into the bathroom.
