Natalie Vaughn couldn't tell the two elders not to complain about Zane Thorne. From Gideon Sheffield's parents' perspective, they were indeed justified in venting their emotions towards Zane Thorne over what happened back then.
But, standing as Zane Thorne's wife, she felt more heartache for him. He must have wanted to participate in that competition; he wouldn't have wanted to face issues during a pre-match self-evaluation, nor did he want the accident to happen to Gideon Sheffield.
The most Natalie could do was to visit the two elders on behalf of Zane Thorne before he returned to Cinnabar.
"Aunt Sheffield, let me start the fire for you."
Aunt Sheffield was about to refuse after wiping her tears when she saw Natalie Vaughn raise four fingers.
"Don't worry, Auntie. I surely won't burn down your kitchen."
This sentence successfully pulled Aunt Sheffield back from her emotions, making her smile through her tears.
"You're not worried about your white clothes?"
