The next second, Simon Lewis swam to the finish as well.
Ethan Hayes straightened up, took off his swimming goggles, wiped the water droplets from his face, and while taking deep breaths, he raised his chin at Simon in the next lane and said, "How was it?? Surrender??"
Simon stood up against the pool wall, removed his goggles, and looked at Ethan with an incredulous expression, "How could you swim so fast!?"
Ethan chuckled and said leisurely to Simon, "You guys, claiming to be from the school swim team, actually just train in the pool every day. I used to swim in the big river when I was a kid. What's the difference between swimming in a river and in a pool?? The pool's water is still, but the river's water is constantly flowing. You're used to swimming in still water, while I'm used to swimming against the current in the river. Of course you can't beat me."
