Si Jiuyou was an orphan; her parents died in a natural disaster caused by chaotic spiritual energies before she could even form memories. She was raised by a mystical creature, a talisman deer, which is a spirit-devouring beast cultivated by Talisman Cultivators to channel Spiritual Qi. This talisman deer had long observed the lives of humans and thus raised and educated her in human ways.
At the age of seven, the talisman deer encountered a transformational trial.
Unfortunately, the talisman deer failed the trial. The commotion of the trial attracted a passing cultivator. This person's name was also "Yushan Daoist," which was not a coincidence, just as it's no coincidence that the Eternal Immortal Sect shares its name with the Eternal Immortal Continent.
