It was late January, the first snow of the year had come a bit late.
The leaves of the two ginkgo trees at the entrance of the old house were all gone, leaving only bare, gray branches.
Sienna Thornton parked the car by the gate and knocked on the door to enter.
Walking through the inner courtyard, she could see Old Master Forrester from a distance, sitting in the living room enjoying tea and reading. Sienna Thornton clutched the gift bag in her hand and quickly walked in, "Grandpa, I'm here."
Old Master Forrester stood up hurriedly upon hearing her, smiling as he pulled Sienna onto the sofa to sit.
The old man poured tea for Sienna and also brought out court desserts for her to eat, smiling contentedly as they drank tea and ate sweets together.
Knowing well that the old man didn't just call her over to have sweets, after a few pleasantries, Sienna asked directly, "Grandpa, did you have something to discuss today?"
