Lin Youning naturally found it laughable. Obviously, Mrs. Dong did such a deceitful thing, and it was discovered by the Holy Emperor, yet ultimately it was the Holy Emperor who took her away. Anyone who heard this would find it ridiculous, but since the one involved was the Holy Emperor, who would dare to say much?
"Although I don't know the specifics of this matter, Father need not concern himself with it, nor need he ask the Marquis. Once in the palace, simply speak directly to the Holy Emperor. Mrs. Dong was rescued by the Holy Emperor, and only the Holy Emperor knows where she's hidden. Now that Mrs. Dong is in trouble, the Holy Emperor finds himself at odds with us, perhaps unable or embarrassed to say much, and calls Father to the palace out of dissatisfaction, which implicates Father."
