Chapter 30 - 30

"Tch."

Cecil had no idea why he clicked his tongue, especially when he felt scared.

"I need to improvise. All of you, go independently."

Cyrus and the 3 Daggers immediately charges into the horde of Silk Snakes, keeping them away from Cecil, mercilessly raining down fatal blows.

(I need something other than Swords and Daggers to deal with a horde like this.)

(A War Sythe?)

(It's just a curved blade on a stick. I don't think it'll work.)

While Cecil was locked in thought, the Silk Snakes were being slaughtered.

Cyrus Slammed his Serpentine tail at two lunging Snakes, burning their bodies into two, simultaneously tearing with his Eagle talons at anything colored white, biting any remaining snakes into strands of silk.

Red Rager Spun unceasingly, leaving a trail of disoriented Snakes and Bundles of silk wherever it passed, boomeranging around a fixed distance from Cecil.

Blue Blitz thrust and tore through Silk Snakes, zigzagging through the horde, ensuring that no snake managed to get close to the Fountain.

Green Guardian.

Like it's a door sized Meat Cleaver, it just spun in place, and moved towards some Snakes, and casualities followed like tap water.

(I guess the perfect weapon would be...)

Cecil looked around from his contemplation.

The Glove of Rose Gold detached, and formed many small balls, but if one looked closely, they had spikes on them.

"Shotgun"

*Woosh*

The Bullets tore through the air, and struck most of the Silk Snakes accurately.

The survivors were grazed, or completely unharmed.

The Snakes turned and began slithering towards Cecil, but—

*Wooosh*

The Bullets changes their trajectory midair, turning towards the Snakes approaching Cecil, and tore through all of them this time.

"Everyone, Move towards the closest building!"

Cecil commanded, and A lion's roar sounded behind him.

Cyrus Jumped into the Air, and Roared towards the Ceiling.

Immediately, Red Lightning Spheres Shot out of his jaws, Flying towards the Ceiling, and then, they Crashed faster than what any eye could see into the horde.

*BOOOM* *BOOOM* *BOOOM*

*BOOOM* *BOOOM*

*BOOOM* *BOOOM* *BOOOM*

*BOOOM* *BOOOM*

*BOOOM* *BOOOM* *BOOOM*

*BOOOM* *BOOOM*

The Ground around Cecil was riddled with Craters that could bury Three of him.

"So you did have a skill, huh."

(Imagine if he had used this in the cage...)

The accuracy of this skill was, so far, perfect, and the explosion just made it better.

Meanwhile, The three Daggers had also reached Cecil and Cyrus, and the Horde began closing in on them again.

Cecil didn't have to do much work.

His shotgun did some of the work, and The Three Daggers with Cyrus mostly dealt with the closing Snakes.

Previously, they were trying to kill as many as they could, but now, they were just clearing the path, naturally, they were much faster.

Cecil had a simple plan.

Animate all 8 Spawners.

The problem was that he had 360 Mp.

Animating one leaves him with 110 Mp.

And he required 2000 in total.

And he had 10 of these—

[

HMP potion, Lv 44

Hp recovery- 44%

Hp regeneration- 4Hp per second over 44 seconds

Mp recovery- 44%

Mp regeneration- 4Mp per second over 44 seconds

Purity- 94%

]

Start at 370 Mp

Animate one, and be left with 120

Drink one potion.

He would get like, 160 Mp instantly.

Then he would have 270 Mp.

He would recover 4 Mp per second for 44 seconds, so 180 Mp.

So he would have 444 Mp after 44 seconds.

Or a wastage of 84

He has to get out of one building and rush to another building's top very quickly, or he would lose some of the recovered mana.

(What the fuck?)

(Do I have to wait for natural Regen?)

(That's too slow!)

(Tch.)

Cecil decided to focus on the road for now.

Unfortunately, there was no road remaining. They were at the entrance of the first building.

"Alright, Cyrus, Block the Entrance, I need some real experience."

Cyrus turned at the gate, forming a choke point for all Silk Serpents trying to enter from outside, and Cecil could finally focus on gaining combat experience.

New Strategy.

The Shotgun bullet Rose Gold will keep orbiting in a circle above his head, firing off towards anything that got too close.

And then he would alternate between the three Daggers.

The first floor was empty, so Cecil walked upstairs, Holding the Door sized Green Guardian like a riot shield.

The moment he stepped into floor 2—

*Hisss*

The entire room was white.

The entire room was wriggling.

The entire room was looking at him.

*Hisss* *Hisss* *Hisss* *Hisss*

"I swear to god—"

Some of them lunged at Cecil.

A single wide swing of Green Guardian killed them all.

But more lunged.

Blue Blitz and Red Rager Tore through them.

They strangely didn't seem to jump together, only some of them jumped at Cecil at a time, and then a few more.

Didn't they realise that this will just chip away their numbers?

(To be fair, Cyrus didn't understand me when he was... Alive? Normal? Before I animated him. And he was a higher level than these.)

There was also a rumor of sorts that Monsters with high enough levels could communicate with humans.

Cecil personally believed that.

But these snakes didn't give him much hope.

He was slowly chipping them down, and then he noticed something.

The Snakes were still spawning.

He saw two of them sliter from the stairs to the next floor.

And he saw one other thing.

The cube.

He could barely see the corner of the cube from his standing point.

He had no idea how far he had to be able to animate, but an attempt is an attempt.

*Hisss*

One Snake managed to get near his non existent bicep.

*Wooo— BANG*

A bullet tore through the Snake and the floor.

""

Nothing.

One step towards the stairs.

""

Nothing.

One more step towards the stairs.

""

Nothing.

Another step towards the stairs.

""

Nothing.

Yet another step towards the stairs.

"Oh shit."

Cecil pointed a finger towards the Spawner.

""

[Mp- 120/370]

"Fuck, Didn't I leave one outside?"

———

Outside, near the fountain, 4 Floating Wheels with spikes on them and Teeth at their center were slowly spinning, drilling into any nearby Silk Snakes.

Strangely, the Silk Snakes seemed to be unable to see them, thrashing around, before eventually they stopped.

Somewhere, a Lion's Roar sounded, and a fifth one floated from the empty water fountain at the center of the eight buildings.
