Chapter 110: An Adventure in Lower Street

This day, Melissa Moretti was greatly shaken.

She had only gone out with friends, but ended up surrounded by villains and nearly met a tragic end. Her neighbor, who had seemed beautiful and delicate, unexpectedly displayed such agile skills, easily taking down several ruffians who rushed at her in the blink of an eye.

Through a gap in the crowd, Melissa saw Cecilia wearing a hooded cloak and carrying a bulging paper bag, as if she were returning home after shopping. Standing at the entrance of the alley, the afternoon sun shone on Cecilia's exquisitely featured face, enveloping her in warm tones, making the scene look like an oil painting by a master.

Melissa had always only loved steam and machinery, with no aesthetic appreciation for art. But even as slow-witted as she was, she had to admit that this scene was truly beautiful. However, the villains who quickly gathered ruined the beauty of this picture, and also made Melissa's heart clench tightly.

Run!

She shouted in her heart.

However, in the next moment, she saw Cecilia, beautiful as a figure in a painting, suddenly raise her fair fist and strike out like lightning, precisely and fiercely hitting the throats of several ruffians who had gathered around. They immediately showed expressions of pain, clutching their necks and slowly falling down.

In the secluded alley, the atmosphere quieted for a moment.

The villains, and the three girls, were all stunned.

Melissa was greatly surprised, and Selena's mouth also gaped slightly.

"So powerful!"

Elizabeth's big eyes sparkled as she spoke with a childishly exaggerated tone.

"Ah!"

"Damn it!"

"Don't run!"

"I can't see!"

Cecilia's figure gracefully weaved through the crowd. Her movements were swift and light, whether punching, kicking, or kneeing, she always managed to hit the vital points of the ruffians' bodies. The ruffians' attacks, however, were always a step behind her, only futilely landing on her afterimages.

After a dozen seconds, this group of villains, who had just been swaggering, lay on the ground, clutching their eyes, lower bodies, or throats, groaning and unable to get up.

Under the surprised and awestruck gazes of the three girls, Cecilia patted off non-existent dust from her clothes, picked up the paper bag again, and looked at them, "Hurry up and come over, what are you still waiting for?"

Melissa and her two friends woke up as if from a dream, then carefully bypassed the groaning and writhing thugs on the ground and ran to her side.

"Wow, you're amazing!"

Elizabeth rushed to Cecilia and praised her sincerely.

"Thank you, Cecilia."

Melissa said with lingering fear.

If it weren't for this neighbor's sudden appearance and rescue of the three of them, they might have encountered something unimaginably terrible today.

Cecilia smiled politely.

"Let's get out of here first."

She said.

Out of the alley and back to Lower Street, walking on the muddy and dirty roads of Lower Street, listening to the noisy sounds of people, the three finally relaxed.

"Melissa, aren't you going to introduce us to this powerful and beautiful lady?"

Elizabeth finally calmed her excited feelings and eagerly looked at her good friend, asking.

"She is Cecilia Longdaoer, my neighbor, and both our brothers work for the same company."

Melissa looked at the girl beside her. Before today, her knowledge of Cecilia was only these few points; she never knew that this beautiful girl possessed such powerful skills.

Oh, right, I heard Klein say that she seemed to have taken a leave of absence from school recently, something about someone bullying her at school. She's so strong, and yet someone could bully her?

"Hello Cecilia, my name is Elizabeth. You're so strong, how can I become as strong as you?"

Elizabeth asked with curiosity and envy.

"I'm not that strong; I just learned some self-defense techniques from my brother."

Cecilia smiled, and a moment later, her expression became slightly serious, "Also, don't casually go to Lower Street in the future; it's too dangerous for you there."

"Okay."

The girls nodded obediently.

They walked together for a while, reaching the center of Iron Cross Street. From here, they were truly out of the Lower Street area.

"You're safe here. I have something else to do. See you next time."

Cecilia bid farewell to the three and turned to walk elsewhere.

"She's really cool."

Elizabeth looked at her back and sighed with emotion.

Selena nodded repeatedly in agreement.

As for Melissa, after calming down, she suddenly had a question. Cecilia didn't want them to go to Lower Street, but for what reason was she there herself?

"Damn bitch! Don't let me catch you!"

In the alley of Lower Street, the leader leaned against the wall and walked towards his home. This afternoon, not only did he fail to get any money, but he also got beaten up. After barely getting up in the alley, they had no choice but to temporarily go home, let their injuries subside, and then make further plans.

He cursed the woman who ruined things, moving his steps with difficulty. His group of subordinates, because of his failure this time, were already somewhat disobedient to him, and no one was willing to help him back. He could only slowly walk home by himself.

As he was about to reach his dwelling and finally lie down to rest, a hint of joy involuntarily appeared in his eyes.

Just then, a flash of bright knife light suddenly flickered from the shadows of the corner.

A dagger had pierced his heart.

"Ho-ho."

The leader's eyes widened. He saw the arm extending from behind the dagger, and a hooded woman. The calm face under the hood was precisely the person he had just been cursing in his mouth.

The strength in his body was rapidly draining away. He was unable to resist, and could only retreat with the force of the other's arm, falling into a sewage pit beside the alley. This pit, filled with human and animal waste and various garbage, quickly submerged his body. The dirty muddy water covered his face, frozen in terror, completely engulfing him.

Cecilia, holding the paper bag, watched indifferently until the other's body had indeed sunk to the bottom, then turned and walked out.

"I heard a magnificent voice from the throne, saying, 'Behold, the Lord's tabernacle has come down to mankind. He will dwell with them, and He will be their God, and He will bear the sins of the people—'"

Holding the human skin holy scripture, Lu Ze softly recited the prayers written in ancient hermes. His expression was calm, but his tightly furrowed brows and occasional twitching showed that he was not feeling well at all at the moment.

Intense pain stimulated his brain, and terrifying and insane whispers echoed in his ears incessantly. He endured it forcefully until the sound of the tide rose. The whispers weakened slightly, but then, more strange visions appeared before his eyes.
