The rapid surge of chakra instantly dispelled Kurama's illusion.
Kairen's murderous intent burst forth in Kurama's direction. In the next moment, he drew out a streak of green light, flashing forward like a green bolt, diving straight toward Kurama's guarded position.
"Careful! That's an unsealed Body Flicker!"
One of Kurama's comrades shouted. His observation was sharp — Kairen hadn't even formed a single hand seal before vanishing into motion. The man couldn't help but be stunned by Kairen's natural gift for Body Flicker.
Why doesn't this guy ever follow common sense? At least make a hand sign first as a warning!
"Fire Release: Great Blaze Technique!"
A Root ninja specializing in Fire Release quickly formed seals, spewing a wave of blazing flames toward Kairen.
Kairen twisted and spun in midair, deftly evading the surge of fire.
Above him, Crow saw Kairen ascend and immediately unfurled his brush and scroll, activating a secret technique.
"Ninja Art: Super Beast Imitating Drawing – Hawk Hunt!"
With a swirl of ink, several small ink birds flew out from the scroll, diving straight at Kairen.
Kairen swatted them away with a single palm strike, scattering the small ink birds. But then, a massive ink eagle came diving down with tremendous force, slamming into him head-on.
Kairen was knocked out of the sky, crashing toward the ground as Root ninjas converged on his position.
Among them, another ninja skilled in Earth Release slapped his palms onto the ground.
"Earth Release: Earth Lance Formation!"
"Rumble..."
In an instant, the ground beneath Kairen erupted as sharp stone lances shot upward.
Kairen twisted left and right, fluidly dodging the rising stone spikes. His Taijutsu had reached an advanced level — both his reflexes and awareness were far beyond what they once were.
"Die!"
A swordsman ninja charged forward, wielding a large blade he'd just picked up.
Kairen spotted him and flickered instantly to appear right before him.
Raising one leg above the man's head, chakra gathered densely at his toes.
"Super Strength: Heaven Kick of Pain!"
The blade-wielder raised his sword horizontally to block.
In a single instant, the man was driven straight into the forest floor — his fate unknown.
"Shadow Imitation Technique!"
A pitch-black shadow slithered through the smoke like a snake ready to strike, aiming straight for Kairen.
Kairen flared his wings, darting low to the ground and dodging the Nara clan's secret technique.
He glanced down. The Root strategist from the Nara clan stood below, hands clasped in a seal, his eyes calm and focused behind his mask.
Beside him stood two more ninjas — one from the Akimichi clan with a round physique, and another from the Yamanaka clan with golden hair.
The Ino–Shika–Chō trio. A complete formation.
Even a Kage-level opponent would struggle against the synergy of the three clans.
Seeing Kairen's gaze, the Yamanaka ninja pressed his palms together in an unusual seal.
"Mind Transfer Jutsu!"
His spiritual energy shot through the air and entered Kairen's body in the blink of an eye.
But the instant he entered, he was engulfed by a chaotic ocean of countless personalities — drowned completely within the tide of minds.
"Foolish!"
Kairen smirked as he regained full control.
In the original story, Yamanaka Ino had once entered Sakura's body, only to be thrown out by her second personality.
Kairen, however, was a patient with multiple personalities. For the Yamanaka to try to control him was pure fantasy.
The Yamanaka immediately released the jutsu, snapping back to his body.
"Cough... cough..."
He spat up several mouthfuls of blood and dropped weakly to one knee.
The Nara ninja frowned. "Mind Transfer Jutsu failed?!"
The Yamanaka murmured weakly, "That brat's mind is... broken. Too chaotic. I can't control it at all."
The Nara remained silent.
Meanwhile, the Akimichi roared, "Expansion Jutsu!"
His body swelled rapidly, transforming into a towering ten-meter giant. His massive hand lunged toward Kairen.
Kairen frowned. If only his chakra were limitless, he could go full Ultraman and flatten this guy with one punch. But for now, he had to conserve it.
He spun his wings, swiftly evading the Akimichi's grasp.
"Rasengan!"
A spiraling sphere instantly formed in Kairen's right hand. He poured more chakra into it, the sphere growing larger and larger until it was the size of a basketball spinning with storm-like energy.
It was Naruto's Giant Rasengan — and with Kairen's superior chakra control, forming one came effortlessly.
He soared straight toward the Akimichi's chest, clutching the massive Rasengan like a blazing comet.
"Giant Rasengan!"
Kairen smashed the Rasengan into the Akimichi's chest, unleashing a shockwave like a hurricane that drove the giant backward over ten steps.
"Fire Release: Giant Fire Gun!"
Kairen stretched out his hand again, a crimson orb forming in his palm, growing to the same size as the Giant Rasengan.
It was infused with explosive fire-natured chakra — an even larger-scale Fire Gun.
Just as it was about to blast the Akimichi into pieces, Aburame Tatsuma waved his hand.
"Buzz... buzz..."
A swarm of black insects erupted, surrounding Tatsuma before swarming toward Kairen.
Kairen spun midair, twisting twice as he dodged the cloud of insects.
"Ninja Art: Super Beast Imitating Drawing!"
An ink-colored Kirin roared to life, diving at Kairen with both claws extended.
"Roar!"
The ink Kirin seized Kairen, restraining his movements.
"You're courting death!"
Kairen roared, channeling Super Strength into his fist. With a single punch, the ink Kirin exploded into splattered ink.
"Whoosh, whoosh..."
The sound of shuriken cutting through air followed — hidden within the ink spray were three shuriken aimed at him.
"Liquor Release: Turtle Shell Technique!"
Kairen's sake gourd sprayed a torrent of alcohol that wrapped around his body, forming a liquid barrier that deflected the shuriken.
"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!"
Shimura Naoto stomped furiously, frowning deeply. Despite half an hour of battle, their fifteen Jōnin still couldn't bring down Kairen.

At the training ground where Kurenai and Shizune were hiding, Kairen's shadow clone was guarding the two of them.
The clone noticed their faces growing increasingly pale, dark blood trickling from the corners of their mouths.
"Uhh..."
Wolon and Fenchu whimpered anxiously, licking the girls' faces with their tongues, desperately trying to rouse them.
"Main body, hurry!"
The clone clenched its fist and self-destructed, sending a flood of information back to Kairen.
Kairen froze for a moment as the stream of data entered his mind — and instantly realized that Kurenai and Shizune's lives were hanging by a thread.
"It's time to go all out!"
He plummeted from the sky, opening the Eight Gates one after another, his body wrapped in a layer of crimson chakra.
Without his Infinite Resurrection System, using a forbidden technique now would certainly endanger his life.
Kairen's chakra flame surged low across the battlefield. The ominous aura pressed heavily on the Root ninjas, making their breathing labored and their stomachs churn with unease.
The Nara strategist shouted, "Careful! That's the brat's full-power form!"
Kairen's gaze locked on the three Jōnin guarding the poison-user. His killing intent flared. Forming a single seal with one hand, the immense chakra within him erupted like a meteor of divine fire.
"Full-Power Fire Release: Great Fire Annihilation!"
"Whoosh—whoosh—whoosh—"
In an instant, a towering sea of fire tens of meters high surged forward.
The blaze devoured everything in its path, the scorching heat draining the moisture from the green leaves, turning them dry and yellow.
The Root ninja proficient in Fire Release stared blankly, unable to comprehend how Kairen had turned a mere B-rank technique into something on par with a forbidden jutsu.
The Nara shouted, "Don't just stand there! Use ninjutsu to block the fire!"
"Got it!"
The Root Jōnin shouted back in unison.
