The pendant dangles on the chain as I hold it up.
I could hear the clock ticking each second.
The cold air collecting up on the floor.
And heard the fabrics being moved in the other room.
Why did she gave this to me?
I haven't slept for hours and I still wondered.
Is this suppose to be some kind of tracker?
No, of course not because their not that advanced to put a very small tracker into this.
Or maybe a good luck charm.
She did imply it but was luck even real?
Maybe but it couldn't be imbued into objects.
Like it was some kind of magic.
And if I remember from all the life experience I had for my entire life here.
There was no such thing as magic.
Or was I just ignorant.
I moved my hands over my neck and attached it around my throat.
Well it does style for me.
It wouldn't hurt much wearing does it?
I mean why does it matter.
I changed position and faced the wall.
I closed my eyes and slept.

"Lukas! Help me carry this table!" Sabine yelled out.
I diverted my attention from setting the chairs and dashed towards her.
I helped her carry the long wooden table.
Laura, my sister was cooking with her friends.
"No, that's not how you cut a meat." She said.
The other villagers were coming and helping us.
Whilst the kids were playing besides the large tree.
"Right...there! Perfect, now set the dished on the table." Sabine said.
I nodded and headed over to my house.
I went in the kitchen and grabbed utensils and dishes before heading out again.
I neatly placed down and arranged each plate and fork for each seat.
Looking like a five star restaurant.
"Phew." I wiped off the sweats that were dripping off my forehead.
"It's been awhile Lukas." A girls voice was behind my back.
And I even recognize that voice too.
It was Amelia Weber.
That self centered little girl.
I slowly looked back to greet her.
When I did, I saw Amelia already pulled her hand out to greet.
"Happy founding!" She said.
I gave a concerned smile before I shook her hand.
"Happy founding..." I said.
"So gloomy...You wanna get beaten up again?" She raised her hand and formed a fist.
I grinded my teeth.
She scoffed.
"I was just joking, I won't beat up a person during founding day!" She let go of my hand walked away.
Why did I think she would have changed, she was still the same old girl.
"Sorry for my daughter." An old women said.
I looked up to see Claudia Weber, the mother of Amelia.
"Oh! Nice to see you again Claudia and happy founding!" I said.
"Yes, happy founding. I'm very sorry for her manner, she always acted that way ever since her father died." She replied.
"Oh? I'm very sorry for the loss." I placed my hand over my heart.
"It's alright. It just that she has always worried about others." She said.
Worried for others? How ironic.
I raised a eyebrow.
"It's true! She might look like a awful person but deep down, she truly deeply cares about others, including you." She said.
Me? How impossible. She was always trying to start a fight.
"Hmph."
She darted her eyes at something and waved out.
"Sorry Lukas, your mother is calling." She soon ran off. Leaving me to contemplate.
I looked at Amelia at the distance.
She was playing with the kids beside the large tree. Smiling and laughing.
Never seen her smile like that before.
I scoffed before going back to work.

I sat down on my chair.
A lot of people came today compared to last year.
I saw Sabine talking to other people laughing.
She really did all of this? She was the same person who couldn't get meat on the table.
But now? It was a straight out of a five star restaurant with Gordon Ramsey as the cook.
Like we have a pig stuffed with veggie right in the middle of the table.
We never had that last year.
Reminds me of my original countries cuisines.
How was she able to do all of this? Or even convince the people to come after last years awful experience.
I looked around and saw Laura talking with her friends.
I jumped out of my chair.
"Oh my god, my boss was SO tiring. He gives non stop assignments to us every second. One time, he made me not only mine? But also drag the cart! Workers also have one designated thing to do but ME!? He definitely hates me."
"Sis?" I gently pulled her shirt.
"Hmm? Oh! Lukas, what is it." She leaned in.
I then snatched her ear and pulling her to another place.
Her friends just watched in silence, drinking the cup of water like nothing has happened whilst Laura was pleading for help.
"Girls! Help me! My little bro is gonna kill me!" She yelled.
I took her far away from the dining.
"Explain!" I said.
"Explain what?"
I pointed at the dining, full of life.
"Yeah, what about it?" She said.
"How did SHE! Do all of this."
"She always had a reputation in the village." She said casually.
Reputation? Since when?! How have I never noticed it.
Well I guess I was away most of the time because of school but still.
"How so?" I asked.
"Well, your father was a nice and caring person before he left for the military."
Yeah I know that but how does it relate to her?
"He was always this, leadership guy. He was actually the son of the villages chief too."
Oh? I never knew that.
"So everyone already had an innate respect for him. But ever since he left, your mother took up that role ever since. Even though we really don't have a village chief anymore. She kinda acted like one. Basically the unofficial chief of our village and people." She said.
"Huh..." I left pondering about that for a long time.
She sighed.
"If only your father was here. You would know why." she said.
"Where is he anyway? I never met him in my entire life." I asked.
"I don't even know for myself. Probably still in the army." She said confidently.
"How do you know? You don't think he left us and married another women?" I said.
"No, I knew him for a couple of years and he always loved your mother. I just know he will never leave us." She said. Her hand over her heart.
"I just...I want to see him again." She said.
Her eyes was full of shining stars as she looked over the dining.
I sighed.
"Fine, I guess I got my answer. Sorry for dragging you here." I said.
"No, it's alright. You deserve an answer. Now how about we eat some good food?" She said.
"YES!" I yelled out. Jumping up and down.
She laughed.
