Evils of Humanity are shadows born alongside the development of human society and civilization. They are disasters capable of threatening human survival, calamities rejected by human history itself. They are self destructive devices born from human society. When human civilization prospers to a certain level, the Evils of Humanity descend.
In truth, an Evil of Humanity is human love itself. An individual without love cannot qualify as a Beast. Such a being can only become a threat to humanity.
Because they symbolize humanity's bestial emotions, the Evils of Humanity are also called Beasts.
Every Evil of Humanity holds a Principle. Goetia rules the Principle of Pity. Tiamat rules the Principle of Return. In sequence, they also symbolize the different turning points faced by humanity's actions from ancient times to the present.
Beast I, Goetia, was the product of God's gift to Solomon. In a sense, it was also God's interference in humanity. The prerequisite for defeating Goetia was Solomon returning everything given by God. That symbolized the beginning of humanity no longer depending on God.
Beast II, Tiamat, has a nature similar to Beast I. Tiamat is a mother goddess. Defeating Tiamat also symbolizes humanity's complete farewell to the Age of Gods. From that point on, humanity no longer relied on gods.
Beast III, Kiara Sessyoin and Kama, both symbolize desire and love. Defeating them represents humanity taming its primal desires, learning to control desire, and becoming different from beasts that exist only for reproduction. It marks the beginning of intellect.
Beast IV includes Fou and the true form of Tamamo Vitch. Both are animals, and Tamamo Vitch can be understood as the union of animals and war. This can be read as humanity's domestication of nature. After learning to use many kinds of weapons, humanity gradually triggered war, expanded territory, and finally reached the top of the food chain.
Beast VI, Sodom's Beast, represents the height of urban prosperity. It symbolizes the advanced development of human civilization. Humanity gains material satisfaction, and its overflowing desires no longer know where to go.
Beast VII, the Alien God, represents the stage after humanity passes beyond Beast VI, when technology flourishes again. Humanity is no longer limited to exploring its own planet and begins turning its gaze toward the vast universe.
The evolution from Beast I to Beast VII can be seen as the development history of human civilization. The seven Evils of Humanity are obstacles at each stage of civilization. Only by overcoming these disasters can humanity continue and move to the next stage. If humanity fails, it will be destroyed. For that reason, the Evils of Humanity are evils that humanity itself must defeat.
And now, right before Alaya's eyes, Wu Ling abandoned his human identity and became a Beast.
"How is this possible? How could you become an Evil of Humanity?"
Wu Ling calmly raised his hand. Fine dark gold scales had already grown across it. Sensing the seed inside him grow, Wu Ling did not mind explaining.
"There is nothing in this world that is impossible."
"When the high birds are gone, the good bow is put away. When the crafty hare dies, the hunting dog is cooked. The moment I sensed something was wrong, I prepared for the worst. My greatest confidence was the portion of the Principle of Return that Tiamat left me."
"After that, I intercepted part of the Principle of Pity. These two origins merged successfully under my desire to leave."
"That is still impossible. You are an ordinary human. No matter how powerful you are, how could you have the capacity to love all humanity?"
Dark gold markings gradually climbed up Wu Ling's neck, then extended across his cheek. Wu Ling smiled faintly.
"Is loving myself difficult?"
At Wu Ling's words, Alaya understood. To Wu Ling, he alone was humanity. Or rather, he only saw himself as the sole human in this world.
That mentality came from the arrogance buried deep inside Wu Ling. He came from Earth. In this world, which had existed only as two-dimensional fiction in his previous life, he could call himself the only real human.
Even if the Earth of his previous life might be two-dimensional fiction in some other world, that was enough when judged relative to this world alone.

They were the sign of a Beast: Great Horns.
A Beast larva does not necessarily have horns. Even if it does, horns do not necessarily mean it has reached adulthood. But an adult Beast must have horns. In this short span of time, Wu Ling passed directly beyond the larval stage and became a true Beast.
Wu Ling raised his hand. His fingers had already become claws as he pointed at Alaya and issued his final warning.
"I will ask one last time. Will you let me leave?"
Alaya's face was serious, but not grave. Wu Ling becoming an Evil of Humanity was outside her plan, but a mere Evil of Humanity was not enough to make her compromise.
"I refuse. Your choices remain the same. Keep your power and stay, or discard it and leave."
This time, Wu Ling nodded calmly.
"I want to leave. You want me to stay. We are now like two ordinary humans. Even people with the closest bond can hold different thoughts over a small matter."
"Take humanity's farewell to the Age of Gods. Even if the great majority of humanity wished to part from the gods, there would surely be a small group content with the present, unwilling to leave divine protection."
"Those are two opposing possibilities. As long as some people desire unity and solidarity, there will always be others who desire chaos and betrayal."
"With that said, it is time for me to introduce myself again. The King of Heroic Spirits was only a false name. I am one of the seven Evils of Humanity, Beast II Variant, the Beast that holds the Principle of Rebellion."
As the last trace of Wu Ling's human essence vanished, the small world Alaya had created to restrain him collapsed completely. Wu Ling returned to the empty Chaldea.
Alaya gritted her teeth.
"He is only a Beast that was born moments ago. Does he really think he is invincible? I can throw him into a corner of some parallel world, or send a Chaldea from a parallel world to deal with him. Since he has never contacted the main world's Chaldea, he poses no real threat."
At that moment, inside Chaldea, Wu Ling sat upon the throne that had been dyed black and crimson. He looked upward, as if he could see Alaya working hard to solve the problem he had become.
"Since you are so busy, I will help you."
Then a power spread out from Wu Ling's body. It was his personal skill as an Evil of Humanity.
