"Dragon Battlefield?" Doctor Roman repeated in a low voice.
He did not object to Wu Ling giving the world a code name. Chaldea did the same when recording files. Every code name had to connect to the world itself. Since Wu Ling said it, he had clearly discovered something.
Doctor Roman was about to ask more, but another incident interrupted him. Da Vinci, who had been helping monitor the situation, leaned over and said, "Wu Ling, a magical energy reaction has appeared near you. Be careful."
At the same time, Mash seemed to sense something. She stopped explaining Grand Servants to Fujimaru Ritsuka and raised her shield to guard them.
Wu Ling turned toward an empty patch of ground. His posture remained casual, but alertness hid beneath it.
"All right. Come out. Since you did not use the chance to attack, that means you are not with that side, right?"
Under everyone's gaze, a figure slowly appeared there.
The man wore glasses that did not match the era. He held a blue sword. The spiked wheel on his shoulder was especially eye-catching.
"That was Primordial Rune just now, yes? Add your divinity, dragon trait, those glasses, and that demonic sword, and I understand. You are Sigurd, the great hero praised as the King of Warriors in the Volsunga Saga."
With a single glance, Wu Ling confirmed the newcomer's identity.
Sigurd, through the glasses that looked like ordinary eyewear but were actually a crystallized Mystic Code of wisdom obtained after eating a dragon's heart, also glimpsed part of Wu Ling's inner nature, as well as the identities of Fujimaru Ritsuka and Mash.
Facing their vigilance, Sigurd adjusted the glasses on the bridge of his nose without concern.
"Chaldeans, then. Good. If your objective is restoring history, we are indeed not with that side."
Fujimaru Ritsuka caught the information hidden in his words. She poked her head out from behind Mash's shield and asked, "We? Are there other Servants?"
"That one, right?"
Before Sigurd could answer, Wu Ling pointed his thumb behind him. That was the direction of the Noble Phantasm attack from earlier. Metallic clashes were still ringing from that battlefield.
"I recognize that Noble Phantasm. Siegfried's Balmung, right? Thanks to this Singularity Belt's special nature, you two actually ended up together."
"To know a Servant's True Name from a Noble Phantasm alone, you live up to your identity. As for Siegfried, he and I are the same yet different. I do envy that resilience of his. But in combat, I believe I will never fall behind him."
Sigurd looked toward the distant battlefield and spoke with confidence.
Then he pointed to his glasses and continued.
"He went to fight mainly because I have this. When you released your presence so recklessly earlier, we already sensed it. I came here to determine whether you were enemies or allies."
While Wu Ling and Sigurd spoke, Fujimaru Ritsuka gradually relaxed after confirming Sigurd bore them no hostility. After hearing the conversation, she leaned toward Mash and whispered, "Mash, I know Siegfried. He was the one we met in the First Singularity, right? But why did they say he and this Sigurd are the same yet different?"
When Mash heard the name Sigurd, she had already lowered her guard in part. Unlike Fujimaru Ritsuka, who had known almost nothing at the beginning, Mash had read epics and legends. She understood what the name Sigurd meant. She began explaining quietly to Ritsuka.
Wu Ling used that chance to ask about this world. To his surprise, he obtained several important pieces of information.
First, aside from Wu Ling's group, the entire world now had only eight Servants left. As Wu Ling had guessed, all eight were connected to dragons.
According to Sigurd, the eight Servants had split into four sides.
He and Siegfried, the two dragon slayers, were together. The Saber class black Knight King and the Lancer class black Knight King were together.
But the remaining four had not split two and two as Wu Ling had expected. They were divided three and one. With the help of the Wisdom Crystallization, Sigurd had already learned that the three allied Servants were Elizabeth Bathory, Kiyohime from the island nation of the east, and Shuten Douji.
As for the final Servant, the strongest one, even Sigurd did not know her True Name.
Wu Ling then asked another question. Why were every one of their Saint Graphs so large?
In Wu Ling's senses, both Sigurd in front of him and Siegfried in the distance possessed Saint Graphs far beyond ordinary Servants. The black Knight Kings were even stronger, with Saint Graphs already close to Grand scale.
Sigurd answered that question as well. The reason every Servant's Saint Graph was so large came down to one thing, Holy Grails.
Yes. Each of the eight surviving Servants possessed at least one Holy Grail inside them. The two black Knight Kings were each strengthened by two Holy Grails. As for the lone Servant, she was even more terrifying. According to Sigurd's observation, she probably had three Holy Grails inside her. Her Saint Graph was not inferior to a Grand Servant container.
Before this, when several parallel worlds connected, many other Servants had still been present. There had even been a white Knight King holding a Holy Grail, along with Mordred from the Knights of the Round Table.
But through continuous slaughter, those Holy Grails had changed hands again and again, finally producing the current eight Servant situation.
The reason Saber Artoria Alter had attacked from such a long distance after sensing Wu Ling was also because of this balance. The current situation had already become gradually stable. If the newcomer had been another dragon Servant holding a Holy Grail, that Grail would have become the key that broke the balance.
"That is also why Siegfried and I rushed here after sensing you.
"Siegfried and I each hold only one Holy Grail, while the two black Knight Kings each hold two. The reason we can fight them evenly is our legends as dragon slayers. If either of us obtained another Holy Grail, we would have confidence in defeating them.
"But even without a Holy Grail, your help should be enough."
Time passed quietly as the two spoke. The distant battle still burned hot.
Then, at the same time, Wu Ling and Sigurd looked toward the sky over the battlefield.
"Bad news, Wu Ling. Another large-scale magical energy fluctuation. It is probably another Noble Phantasm," Doctor Roman said from beside them.
"Yes. We see it."
Wu Ling looked up. A black pillar of light was descending from the sky.
"So that is the Lancer Knight King's Noble Phantasm, the Holy Lance Rhongomyniad."
