"Damn it. Light magic. Are you the Light Tower Master of the Seven Towers of Falan? For Falan to act this way, you are challenging the dragon race's bottom line. Do you want to start a war between dragons and humans?"
Noxis's voice sounded once more from the center of the Dragon Domain. At the same time, a pillar of milky-white light shot into the sky, carrying countless silver stars straight upward.
The silver-purple full moon flashed again, releasing even brighter moonlight. The gloomy Dragon Domain immediately grew much clearer.
Under that enormous milky-white energy, the full moon changed violently.
The silver-purple light slowly pulled inward, and the round full moon shrank slightly. More bone dragons were awakened. When the first group of bone dragons discovered that ordinary magic had little effect on the flame, they followed instinct and the command of the intelligent sacred giant dragon at the center of the Dragon Domain. They threw their own bodies toward the Sacred Flame burning on the ground, trying to extinguish it.
Noxis could sense the power inside that flame. Even when he had been alive, he might have been burned by it. More importantly, it had an enormous effect on dragon souls. It damaged dragon souls even more than it damaged dragon bones.
How could Noxis have known that this Sacred Flame, which killed souls without ruining the "materials," had been specially developed by Rose for this kind of situation? After the dragon bones were tempered by the Sacred Flame and absorbed the soul energy burned into ash, they would become even more practical for manufacturing and experiments than simple dragon bones.
As for why Wu Ling did not want all the dragon souls, the answer was simple. Was there not still the strongest one here? As long as he obtained Noxis's dragon soul, he only needed to catch a few of the others at random.
Of course, the Sacred Flame was extremely lethal to dragon souls, but without a supply of Spirit Power, it was rootless duckweed. As time passed and countless bone dragons threw themselves into it, the flame on the ground gradually weakened.
Then, before Noxis could feel glad, Wu Ling took out a Spirit Power block half the size of his palm and casually tossed it into the Sacred Flame like firewood.
The Sacred Flame, which had been reduced to a single ember, reacted as if gasoline had been poured onto it. That tiny flame surged again, even fiercer than it had been at the start.
Feeling the flame flare up, the old voice from the center of the Dragon Domain echoed through the air, sounding almost dazed.
"No, no, no. This cannot happen. The sacred land of the dragon race cannot be destroyed like this. I will not allow it!"
As the voice fell, the full moon in the sky blazed with light. Countless rays of moonlight gathered into a beam and shot toward the center of the Sacred Flame.
Wu Ling took that chance to glance at Rose. She was still working on something with dragon bones that no longer had dragon souls to support them. As if their thoughts had connected, Rose also looked up at Wu Ling, then gave a slight nod.
A moment later, the silver-purple moon still hung overhead, but it had returned to a crescent. Soft silver-purple light spread through the air. The bone dragons on the ground gradually sank back into silence. Clearly, the moon could no longer provide them with much power.
"Bastard. That power definitely does not belong to the Seven Towers of Falan. Who are you, and what do you want?"
Noxis's voice sounded again from the center of the Dragon Domain. Compared with before, he was much weaker now. His tone remained impolite, but it was full of bluster hiding fear.
"Nothing much. I am just taking a few local specialties while traveling."
Wu Ling answered casually and kept walking. Soon, he set foot on the dragon-bone plain and continued toward the center of the Dragon Domain.
A low sigh sounded from the center of the Dragon Domain, shaking the entire space.
"As a noble dragon, I do not lie. I must admit that you have made me feel threatened. I never imagined that the Dragon Domain would face destruction because of a single human. Countless years have passed. Is this the beginning of the dragon race's calamity?"
"Enough, Noxis. If you truly want to protect this place, come out and meet me."
Wu Ling walked across the not-so-large dragon-bone plain. Many bone dragons still had faint soul flames flickering in their eyes, but such a little fire was nowhere near enough to support them in standing or moving.
"You!"
Noxis sounded furious, but he had no choice except to suppress that rage. Judging from Wu Ling's earlier behavior, that flame was closer to an attack method stored in an object than a spell. Noxis could not be certain whether Wu Ling still had more of those tools. Temporary patience mattered now.
"Human, what exactly do you want? Can you not let me finish the final part of my journey alone? Must you truly wipe everything out? Because I forcibly twisted the Dragon Domain's rules, I overused my soul power. I am nearly at the end of my strength. It will not be long before I scatter into ash. Are you unwilling to wait even that little time?"
"You should know that the Dragon Domain exists because of the soul power of countless dead dragons. If every dragon soul here is destroyed, then our dragon race's sacred land will collapse as well. I assume that is not something you wish to see either."
"Then come out and meet me. I never said I had to kill you."
Wu Ling chuckled, locked onto a direction, and continued. "I can see that your consumption is serious, but you are not at the point where the lamp has run dry. As the only sacred giant dragon of your era, making you die completely is not an easy thing."
He kept moving forward. The deeper he went into the Dragon Domain, the more violent the surrounding magical elements became. It seemed Noxis, the sacred giant dragon at the center, was trying to block him this way.
As Wu Ling passed the intact bone dragons, he sensed the energy remaining inside them.
He had to admit that the dragons of the Qin Emperor world were unusual. The eastern divine dragon race could almost compare with the strongest nine dragon clans of the Soul Land Divine Realm. Every divine dragon possessed at least the bloodline potential of a sacred giant dragon.
The Divine Dragon King of that world was not equal to the Dragon God of the Divine Realm, but he was still a genuine god-level expert. If the Mother Demon King had not led the abyssal plane in an invasion and forced him to sacrifice himself to seal the spatial rift, then that first god-level expert of the Qin Emperor universe might have continued cultivating and eventually reached a god-king level like the future Qin Emperor. If he truly carried the blood of the Chinese divine dragon, then even matching or surpassing the Dragon God one day might not have been impossible.
Compared with the eastern divine dragons, however, the western dragon race was lacking. Overall, they were not even as impressive as the ordinary dragons of Soul Land. Only the sacred giant dragon bloodline had somewhat higher potential, and even that was limited. If Di Tian came here, he might solve the problem with one claw.
The Dragon Domain appeared boundless because of mirror-like energy reflection, but its real area was still not small. Wu Ling did not move quickly. He walked while observing his surroundings, all while enduring the obstruction of magical-element storms. It was not an easy journey.
"Human, what exactly are you trying to do?"
Noxis's old and weakened voice sounded again from the center of the Dragon Domain. By now, Wu Ling had reached the area. At last, he met the sacred giant dragon of this world face-to-face.
