Back at the base, no seconds were wasted. I practically teleported her with me, grabbing her wrist and pulling her into my room before she could even blink.
She stumbled slightly, her eyes wide with confusion as she tried to process how fast we had moved, but I didn't let her get a word out.
I shoved her toward the bed and immediately leaned in, crashing my lips against hers.
My hands tangled in her hair, pulling her closer as I kissed her deeply, my lips trailing down the sensitive skin of her neck.
She smells incredible—like fresh lavender, soft and sweet.
I felt her tense up, and in the blink of an eye, she vanished, teleporting out of my grip. I wasn't about to let her get that far.
"Not on my watch."
I focused on her location and teleported her right back to the mattress, landing her next to me before she could even stabilize.
She looked surprised, but I just grinned at her, my eyes dark with intent.
