Ava's eyes scanned the place the moment they walked into the restaurant.
It was exactly as she remembered.
The lighting was still warm, casting a soft glow over the wooden floors and neatly arranged tables. The faint sound of conversations filled the air, mixed with the quiet clatter of cutlery and low music playing somewhere in the background. Nothing had changed and that realization alone made her chest ache.
Her gaze moved instinctively, searching till it landed on a table near the window... her breath caught as soon as her eyes landed on the table.
She stopped walking without realizing it, her steps slowing until Damian noticed and halted beside her. Ava stared at the table for a long moment, her eyes unfocused, memories rising in her mind uninvited.
"We sat right there," she said quietly.
