"Don't play coy with me," Daehyun warned, "I saw it clearly. So... Did you open it?"
"Yes and in the bathroom."
"And?"
She pulled it out and held it toward him.
He took it carefully, like he already understood it needed to be handled that way. Read it once. Then again.
His face stayed neutral through the first reading. Something shifted on the second.
"The usual aesthetic I was used to," he said.
"Yeah."
"That's someone writing like they knew you. Past tense. Like they watched you long enough to have a default image of you."
"That's what I got too."
He looked at the note once more, then handed it back. "How are you doing right now. Actually."
"I'm fine."
"Soorin."
"I had a moment in the bathroom. I'm through it. The cold water trick works, turns out."
"That's not the same as being fine."
"It's as fine as I can be right now and it's enough to get through tonight." She tucked the note back into the bag. "I'll fall apart properly later when there's time for it."
