Seoul evening settled around them. Traffic manageable. Sky beautiful.
She looked out the window. Still smiling.
'I'm definitely becoming Mom. And honestly? I'm okay with it.'
"So," Soorin said after a moment. "Park tomorrow."
"Park tomorrow."
"What kind of park, though?"
"A surprise."
"You're not going to tell me?"
"Nope. You'll see when we get there."
"Mysterious."
"I have my moments."
She smiled. "Give me a hint at least."
"There's water. Trees. Walking paths. Maybe some ducks."
"That describes like half the parks in Seoul."
"Exactly. Hence the surprise."
"You're enjoying this."
"After what you just put me through? Yes. I'm enjoying having one secret."
"Fair."
They drove through familiar streets. Comfortable despite the teasing.
"Your mom texted me," Haejin said.
Soorin looked at him. "What?"
"She has my number now apparently."
"Oh god. What did she say?"
"Asked when we're coming for dinner again. Said your dad wants to 'talk business.'"
"That's terrifying."
