Back at the hotel, Soorin packed her suitcase.
Methodically. Carefully.
Not thinking about Haejin. Not thinking about the note. Not thinking about—
A knock.
She froze.
'Please don't be him. Please.'
"Soorin? It's Minjae. Can we talk?"
Relief and disappointment mixed together.
She opened the door.
Minjae stood there. Soft smile. Kind eyes.
"Hey."
"Hey."
"Can I come in?"
"Sure."
He entered. Looked around at her half-packed suitcase.
"Ready to go home?"
"As ready as I'll ever be."
"Yeah." He paused. "Listen, I wanted to say something. And maybe it's not my place, but—"
"Minjae—"
"You seem sad. Have been all week. And I know it's not my business, but if you need someone to talk to—"
"I'm fine."
"That's what Haejin keeps saying too. And he's not fine either."
She looked away. "I don't know what you mean."
"Yes, you do. So does he. So does everyone except maybe Jisoo, but he's oblivious to everything except food and choreography."
