CHRISTMAS DAY
Valentina woke up with a smile on her face, but almost jumped out of her skin when her eyes stumbled on someone standing in the center of her room.
She sat up, and wiped her eyes clean with the back of her hand.
For a two factor authentication, she blinked multiple times.
"Merry Christmas, sunshine."
She saw the charming smile that followed it, and it was so infectious, she returned it at once.
"You're back," she said, a little out of breath.
"I wanted to bring this to you myself." He walked over to her and handed her a fresh cup of coffee, with a single rose as a side.
Valentina burst into a hearty giggle. "Thank you Julien. This is beautiful."
"Not as beautiful as you are. God I missed seeing your face in person. I mean technically I saw it just once before I left, but you know what I mean."
"I do, and I'm grateful. Can't believe it's finally Christmas day." She set the rose aside, and focused on her coffee.
"I have more surprises for you."
