Chapter 125 - Chapter 7: The Deal

Emiya had always believed his psychic shield was extremely strong.

It could withstand impacts of over a hundred tons.

Even a rocket launcher might not be able to break through it.

Yet that defense had been torn apart like paper by Luo Cuilian's authority.

A single move.

If he hadn't fled immediately, he would already be dead.

Tsk.

God-Slayers and gods were both monsters.

Emiya decided that in the future, he would stay as far away from people like that as possible.

They weren't opponents he could afford to provoke.

Hayato burst out laughing.

"So that's how it is. Your arrival at Ryōzanpaku was just a coincidence."

"No problem, then. By the way, we still don't know your name, young man."

"My name is Emiya."

"Emiya?" Ma Kensei looked at him closely. "Are you from our homeland as well?"

Emiya nodded.

Ma Kensei frowned slightly.

"Then have you been to this world before?"

"This is my first time."

"That's strange," Ma Kensei said. "If it's your first time, how did you know this was Ryōzanpaku?"

"It has to do with my superpower," Emiya replied. He found the explanation annoying, so he simply pushed it all onto that excuse.

"Every time I enter a new world, I receive some basic information. I not only know about Ryōzanpaku, but also about the Yami."

The masters' expressions changed instantly.

But they quickly calmed down.

Hayato smiled.

"Then what do you plan to do next, young man Emiya? Will you stay at Ryōzanpaku for a few days?"

Emiya shook his head.

"This world isn't much different from the one I lived in before. Even though there are martial arts masters like you, it's still just a modern world."

"I want to see more interesting worlds."

Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple was ultimately a martial arts story.

The fights were exciting.

But it was still a modern setting.

It lacked the grandeur and mystery of other worlds.

No magic. No true supernatural systems.

Well-calling it completely non-supernatural wasn't accurate.

This world had "Ki."

But the Ki here was extremely basic.

It could strengthen the body and enhance combat ability.

That was all.

It couldn't extend lifespan.

It couldn't move mountains.

It couldn't grant immortality.

Compared to magic, spiritual power, or Haki, it was far inferior.

In Emiya's eyes, this Ki barely qualified as a supernatural power.

Compared to the Ki of the Dragon Ball world, it wasn't even on the same level.

On top of that, the scenery and food were average.

He had no interest in staying.

"By the way," Emiya said, pointing at the pyramid of gold bricks and the pile of diamonds he had created earlier,

"I'll leave these behind as thanks for letting me recover in your dojo."

Hayato shook his head.

"We don't care about money."

"If you really want to repay us," he said calmly, "why don't you take me to meet that Luo Cuilian?"

"Elder?!" Ma Kensei exclaimed. The others were just as shocked.

Emiya looked at Hayato.

"You want to meet Luo Cuilian? Why?"

Hayato answered seriously.

"It's a martial artist's curiosity. I want to see with my own eyes how terrifying a demon sect leader who stands at the pinnacle of martial arts-and who has slain a god-really is."

Emiya understood immediately.

"I get it. But no."

"Why?"

"Because you'll be beaten to death," Emiya replied just as calmly.

The Campione story never clearly explained whether Luo Cuilian killed a god through pure martial arts or sheer luck.

Emiya leaned toward the latter.

Since ancient times, countless people had practiced martial arts.

Yet no one had ever killed a god through human strength alone.

The gap was simply too large.

But that didn't mean Luo Cuilian was weak.

On the contrary.

Someone who stood at the peak of martial arts in a supernatural world couldn't possibly be weak.

She wasn't just a martial artist.

She was also a spellcaster.

If Hayato met her, there was only one outcome.

Complete annihilation.

"I know what you're thinking," Emiya said evenly.

"But challenging Luo Cuilian right now isn't rational."

"You're strong. But she's stronger."

"You're not on the same level at all."

"In her world, there are gods and supernatural powers."

"In yours, Ki exists-but no truly powerful supernatural system."

"Just from that alone, you've already lost."

"Luo Cuilian once killed two Buddhist deities-the Vajra Kings Milijia Vajra and Nārāyaṇa Vajra-and stole their authorities."

"She possesses the power of a Vajra Warrior."

"For offense, it can manifest as a giant hand that can destroy cities and fortresses."

"For defense, it can form armor around her body. Missiles wouldn't work. Even nuclear weapons might fail."

"And that's only one of her authorities."

"She has several."

"In her world, God-Slayers are demon kings who terrify entire lands."

"They are monsters who fight gods head-on."

"Even the combined military power of an entire country can't defeat a single God-Slayer."

"You wouldn't last three moves against her."

"Even if she didn't use her authorities and relied only on martial arts, you wouldn't survive a hundred exchanges."

The dojo fell silent.

The masters were stunned.

They had known God-Slayers were strong.

They hadn't imagined this level of strength.

Fighting an entire country alone?

That was absurd.

After a long pause, Hayato let out a bitter laugh.

"...Alright. I was arrogant."

Emiya thought for a moment.

"If you truly want to challenge Luo Cuilian someday," he said,

"you should train in other worlds first."

"I can take you to a world where gods exist."

"Where gods grant blessings, and humans grow stronger by training and slaying monsters."

"But there's a condition."

"You must worship a god."

Hayato shook his head immediately.

"The reason we martial artists reached this point is precisely because we don't believe in gods or ghosts."

"We believe only in our fists."

"If we worship a god, our martial hearts would be tainted."

"Young man Emiya, I appreciate your kindness-but I must refuse."

The other masters nodded.

Their expressions were confident.

Defiant.

Emiya's original plan to leave changed.

He suddenly became curious.

How far could these rebellious masters-who refused to believe in gods-go if they obtained true supernatural power?

They had already reached the pinnacle of their world through sheer effort.

If they entered another world...

Could they go further?

Far enough to stand beside God-Slayers like Luo Cuilian?

"Hmm," Emiya said, creating a chair and sitting down.

"Then let's make a deal, everyone of Ryōzanpaku."

He smiled faintly.

The masters exchanged glances.

Finally, Hayato spoke.

"What kind of deal?"

"I can provide you with a world where you can master true supernatural power," Emiya said calmly.

"You could regain your youth."

"And remain young forever."

Hayato smiled.

"A generous offer. What do we give in return?"

"If I asked you to submit to me," Emiya said,

"I'm guessing you'd refuse."

Hayato laughed loudly.

"Hahaha! You're perceptive. Even with such an offer, we won't pledge loyalty to someone whose background we don't know."

"I expected that," Emiya replied.

"So here's the deal."

"I give you the chance to grow stronger."

"In return, each of you must agree to do three things for me every year."

"Three things. Per person. Per year."

Ma Kensei smirked.

"You should know Ryōzanpaku's motto."

"Of course," Emiya said.

"Katsujinken. The life-saving fist."

"Different from Yami's killing fist."

"So don't worry. What I ask won't involve killing."

"I'm not a hero of justice."

"But I'm not a villain either."

Akisame Koetsuji stroked his chin, eyes gleaming.

"Hm. Three tasks a year without killing is generous."

"But I have a question."

"Go ahead."

"If you don't use the three tasks in one year, do they carry over?"

"Yes," Emiya nodded.

"Unused tasks carry over. Indefinitely."

"No killing?"

"No killing."

"No crimes like kidnapping or arson?"

"No," Emiya shook his head.

"If I ask for something illegal, you can refuse outright."

Shio Sakaki was clearly tempted.

But he looked at Hayato.

"Elder?"

Hayato thought for a moment.

"We need to discuss this."

"Of course," Emiya said calmly. He hadn't expected an immediate answer.

The masters gathered to the side.

Emiya remained seated.

Only Miu stayed with him, so he wouldn't be left alone.

She kept glancing at him, clearly wanting to say something.

Emiya spoke first.

"Miss Fūrinji, there's something I don't quite understand."

"...What is it?"

Emiya pointed to a small table nearby.

A few bowls of miso soup.

Rice.

And a handful of pitiful side dishes.

"Is that your breakfast?"

Miu's face instantly turned red.

"...Yes. That's our breakfast."
