Chapter 116 - Chapter 33: The Superhuman Potion

The next day, at Arlong Park in Cocoyasi Village.

After a full day of rest, Emiya had completely recovered from the side effects of the new Gosui potion.

Just as Dr. Kureha had predicted.

He felt full of energy again.

In Emiya's opinion, Dr. Kureha truly deserved her reputation as the top doctor of the pirate world. Even in the modern world, her medical skills would be considered first-rate.

After all, the modern world wasn't nearly as illogical as the One Piece world, where bizarre medical techniques were practically commonplace.

At the moment, Emiya was alone in his room.

He was attempting to create an optimized version of Gosui.

Although the modified Gosui created by Dr. Kureha had astonishing effects, those effects were only temporary.

So Emiya decided to use it as a foundation and create a permanent enhancement potion.

Moreover, the new Gosui only increased physical abilities threefold.

That was far weaker than the Energy Steroid from Fish-Man Island.

The ES could boost a fish-man's physical abilities by dozens of times.

The potion Emiya wanted to create couldn't be inferior to that.

At the very least, it should be able to increase a human's physical abilities by one hundred times to be considered successful.

But as he began, a problem quickly surfaced.

He could indeed create a permanent enhancement potion based on the new Gosui.

And he could increase its effectiveness.

However-

For every additional multiplier added to the potion's effect, it required an extra 10% of his mental power.

Threefold was fine.

Fivefold was fine.

Tenfold was still manageable.

But fifteenfold?

Impossible.

His mental power simply wasn't enough.

Emiya wasn't Loki.

He didn't possess an endless supply of mental power.

At most, he could only create a potion that increased physical abilities by twelve times.

Anything beyond that was out of reach.

A hundredfold increase was nothing more than a fantasy for now.

For the current Emiya, that goal was undeniably unrealistic.

He estimated that once he could create Devil Fruits without any drawbacks-without Loki's assistance-he might be able to make a potion that increased physical abilities fiftyfold.

And if he could create upgraded Devil Fruits...

Then a hundredfold potion might become possible.

Unfortunately, he wasn't there yet.

Still, twelvefold was more than enough.

Emiya gave the potion a name.

The Superhuman Potion.

In the One Piece world, an average Marine soldier had a douriki of ten.

Anyone with a douriki above five hundred was considered a Superhuman.

Emiya's potion could turn an ordinary person into a Superhuman.

Hence the name.

By the numbers, a douriki of ten multiplied twelve times would only reach 120.

Still far from five hundred.

But that comparison was flawed.

The Superhuman Potion didn't increase douriki directly.

It enhanced overall physical abilities-the life activity of the body and the performance of its organs and systems.

That was fundamentally different.

A onefold increase in physical ability often resulted in several times the combat output.

So when physical abilities were increased twelvefold, even an ordinary person could reach a douriki of five hundred.

That was why the name Superhuman Potion was appropriate.

After successfully creating it, Emiya's mental power was almost completely depleted.

He felt drained.

He wanted nothing more than to lie down and sleep.

But at that moment, the Vulcan Ring activated.

His consumed mental power rapidly recovered.

About half an hour later, the exhaustion was gone.

He felt refreshed.

Without hesitation, Emiya drank the Superhuman Potion.

A powerful medicinal force surged through his body.

It seeped into his muscles.

His bones.

Even his cells.

His body began changing at an astonishing speed.

His bones and muscles grew denser and harder.

His internal organs were strengthened.

Even his metabolism reached an entirely new level.

At that moment, Emiya clearly felt how much stronger he had become.

This was far beyond the effect of the new Gosui potion.

That had only been a threefold boost.

This was twelvefold.

Now, Emiya was certain.

His douriki had exceeded five hundred.

He might not be on the level of the three Admirals.

Nor even a Marine Vice-Admiral.

But he felt confident that he wouldn't lose to the strongest CP9 agent in eight hundred years-

Rob Lucci.

After all, even before drinking the Superhuman Potion, Emiya's physical abilities were already far above those of an ordinary Marine.

He was an adventurer who had gained over twenty levels in Axel.

Of course, that comparison was only Emiya's own estimation.

The truth would only be known if they actually fought.

But Emiya wasn't a battle maniac.

He had no interest in seeking out Rob Lucci just to test himself.

He wasn't obsessed with fighting.

The reason he created the Superhuman Potion was simple.

Using Devil Fruit abilities consumed stamina.

A lot of it.

Now that his physical abilities had been enhanced twelvefold, his stamina pool had become enormous.

He could use his Devil Fruit powers for extended periods without worry.

After his mental power fully recovered, Emiya created a second bottle of the Superhuman Potion.

He drank it immediately.

He wanted to see if stacking the potion would make him even stronger.

Reality quickly answered him.

After drinking the second bottle, nothing changed.

He didn't feel any stronger at all.

The potion entered his body-

And wasn't absorbed.

Instead, it was expelled through his sweat.

This meant only one thing.

The Superhuman Potion couldn't be stacked.

To grow stronger again, he would need a different drug.

Something like the Energy Steroid.

But at his current level, his stamina was already sufficient.

He wasn't desperate for the ES.

And he definitely didn't feel like diving ten thousand meters underwater to Fish-Man Island.

Over the next few days, Emiya created several more bottles of Superhuman Potion.

One day, during a meal, he distributed them.

Shizuka Hiratsuka.

Nami.

Nojiko.

Robin.

Issho.

"What is this?" Nami asked, confused.

"The Superhuman Potion," Emiya replied calmly. "A drug that boosts physical abilities twelvefold. No side effects."

Shizuka raised an eyebrow.

"You actually succeeded?"

Emiya nodded.

"I have you to thank for that."

Without Shizuka's reminder, he might never have thought of this approach.

But Shizuka shook her head.

"Even without me, you would've figured it out eventually."

"Your ability is just too ridiculous."

Emiya didn't deny it.

His Fantasy Creation ability truly was overpowered.

If not for the limitation of his mental power, he could already be called a creator.

And once his mental power increased further-

He would be a genuine creator.

With enough mental power, he could even create a planet.

Or a sun.

Of course, reaching that level wouldn't happen anytime soon.

In fact, even with Loki's divine power, creating a sun might still be impossible.

If he could do that, his power would rival that of main gods or even god-kings from mythologies.

Issho was especially curious about the potion he received.

He uncapped it and drank it in one go.

As the liquid entered his body, his physical abilities began to improve.

But he quickly noticed something.

The increase wasn't anywhere near twelvefold.

It was only about 1.2 times.

Even so, Issho was shocked.

At his level, even the smallest improvement required countless battles and endless training.

Sometimes, no matter how hard you trained, there would be no improvement at all.

Yet a single bottle had increased his physical abilities by 1.2 times.

That was already terrifying.

To achieve the same result through training alone would take him at least ten years.

Possibly more.

Emiya watched everyone quietly.

Then he smiled.

"How do you feel?"

Shizuka threw a punch.

Bang.

The air exploded.

The violent airflow blew Emiya's hair backward.

"I feel great," she said.

Issho narrowed his eyes slightly.

The Shizuka from before couldn't do that.

But now, she could casually shatter the air with a punch.

And she clearly wasn't using her full strength.

The Superhuman Potion had undeniably enhanced her.

And not by a mere three- or fivefold.

It truly seemed to be twelvefold.

Issho then looked at Nami, Nojiko, and Robin.

On the surface, their bodies didn't look much different.

But beneath their skin, earth-shattering changes were taking place.

At that moment, Emiya turned his attention back to Issho.

He understood the difference.

Shizuka and the others were ordinary people.

They could fully benefit from the potion.

Issho was different.

His physical abilities were already extraordinary.

The potion's effect on him would naturally be much weaker.

Emiya wasn't sure how much weaker.

So he simply asked.

"How much did you improve?"

Issho calmly picked up his chopsticks, grabbed a piece of meat, and replied,

"About 1.2 times."

That number stunned Emiya.

He had expected a reduced effect.

But only one-tenth of the normal effect?

That was beyond his expectations.

It seemed the Superhuman Potion still had room for adjustment.

But that would have to wait.

First-

His mental power needed to grow stronger.
