Emiya thought for a moment.
"I heard the tangerines in Cocoyasi Village are good," he said. "If you want to repay me, send me some."
Gen-san nodded firmly, then turned and left with the villagers.
Shizuka Hiratsuka stayed behind.
She stared straight at Emiya.
Emiya noticed and frowned slightly.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
"If I'm not mistaken," Shizuka Hiratsuka said slowly, "the only people who grow tangerines in Cocoyasi Village are Nami's family."
"And that orchard was planted by Nami's mother."
She narrowed her eyes.
"You... are you interested in Nami?"
"What are you talking about?"
"What am I talking about?" she shot back. "You suddenly ask for tangerines and still say you're not interested?"
"She's the female protagonist. She's beautiful. It's normal to like her."
"But she's still a high school student, right?"
"You're really going after a high school girl?"
"Nonsense."
Emiya didn't bother arguing.
He quietly looked back down at the sea chart Nami had drawn.
Shizuka Hiratsuka watched him suspiciously.

He set the chart aside.
"I'll admit I have some affection for Nami," he said calmly. "But love is about fate. You can't force it."
