Hephaestus pouted and didn't say anything more.
From her understanding of Freya, once she set her sights on someone-god or mortal-she wouldn't give up until she got them.
But Hephaestus wasn't worried about Emiya.
Just as Emiya said, he would leave as soon as he finished eating. Freya wouldn't have a chance to act.
She didn't know when Emiya would return, and Freya couldn't afford to sit around doing nothing while waiting.
There was nothing to worry about.
"Just be careful yourself."
After offering that small warning, Hephaestus fell silent.
Emiya nodded to show he understood, then turned his attention back to the food in front of him.
He ate without restraint.
Every dish used top-tier ingredients and refined cooking techniques. Combined with the chefs' skill, the result was exceptional.
Emiya was certain this level of cuisine would never appear in the modern world.
It could only exist in a fantasy world like this.
He believed that after tonight, the name The Goddess's Feast would spread among the gods.
The Hestia Familia would soon enter a period of rapid growth and firmly establish itself in the food industry.
Gin Dojima and the others wouldn't let this opportunity slip.
While solidifying their foundation, they would expand aggressively.
Before long, the Hestia Familia's reputation would echo throughout Orario.
And perhaps, in a few years, throughout the entire world.
After the banquet, Emiya walked over to Hestia.
"Congratulations, Hestia. It won't be long before your Familia is as famous as the Hephaestus Familia."
Hestia's face was filled with joy.
"If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have met Gin Dojima and the others, and I wouldn't even have a Familia of my own," she said sincerely. "Thank you, Emiya."
"You're welcome. It's what I should do."
That was what Emiya said.
What he thought was something else entirely.
If I hadn't interfered, Loki wouldn't have handed Bell Cranel over to Freya. I just hope you don't punch me when you find out.
But Hestia, unaware of any of that, continued thanking him.
Seeing that it was getting late, Emiya said his goodbyes.
Hestia didn't try to keep him.
"My Familia will always welcome you," she said.
"Thank you."
After that, Emiya also bid farewell to Hephaestus.
She nodded with a satisfied smile.
"Don't forget our agreement."
"Of course not."
Emiya agreed readily. Acquiring some minerals from another world wasn't difficult for him.
Then he walked over to Loki.
Before he could speak, Loki pulled out a book and handed it to him.
"Here. Take it."
"What's this?"
"A Grimoire."
Emiya was surprised.
He knew exactly what a Grimoire was.
In simple terms, it was a book that forcibly taught magic. As long as someone read it, they would be compelled to learn the spell recorded inside.
In Orario, this was an extremely valuable item.
Only those who had pushed magic and mystery to an extreme level could create one.
Generally, only adventurers at Level 3 or above were qualified to write a Grimoire.
Its price was comparable to a first-class item from the Hephaestus Familia.
At minimum, it cost tens of millions of valis.
If the magic recorded was rare enough, a price exceeding a hundred million wouldn't be surprising.
And Emiya was certain that the Grimoire Loki handed him wasn't for some ordinary spell.
"Why give me a Grimoire all of a sudden?" Emiya asked.
"I promised you a favor once. Don't tell me you forgot."
Hearing that, Emiya vaguely remembered something like it.
Only vaguely.
It was only now, with Loki bringing it up, that it resurfaced.
"What kind of magic is it?" Emiya asked, interest stirring.
Loki smiled.
"You'll find out when you go back and read it."
Seeing that she wasn't going to elaborate, Emiya didn't press further.
He nodded.
"Then I'll be going. I'll come back to see you when I have time."
Loki waved her hand casually.
"Safe travels."
"Thanks."
In front of everyone, Emiya activated his power and vanished from the restaurant.
To most people, it simply looked like a teleportation spell.
No one would think he had left the world itself.
Not even Freya.
...
When Emiya returned to Axel, the first place he went was the mansion.
It was empty.
Aqua, Megumin, Darkness, and Kazuma were nowhere to be seen.
It was their day off. They had clearly gone out to enjoy themselves.
Emiya sat down on the sofa and opened the Grimoire.
The first thing he noticed was the writing.
It wasn't divine script.
It wasn't any demihuman language either.
It was a set of complex, unfamiliar symbols with no recognizable structure.
If anything, it was the language of magic itself.
Then, his consciousness was dragged into a sea of words.
A Grimoire forced a person to learn magic, so its method was naturally abnormal.
As Emiya read, his consciousness was pulled inside the book.
The essence of the magic unfolded before him.
Then the knowledge was forcibly poured into his soul.
Acceptance.
Understanding.
Mastery.
Everything happened naturally.
Just as Emiya had expected.
The magic Loki gave him was extremely powerful.
As a god, Loki carried many titles.
The Deceitful God.
The Shapeshifter.
The Trickster.
The Sky-Walker.
The Air-Traveler.
But because of her love for pranks and schemes, her most famous title was the God of Tricks.
She was intelligent and cunning, often regarded as a God of Wisdom.
Yet what she gave Emiya wasn't wisdom.
It was Metamorphosis.
Loki's shapeshifting ability was infamous even among gods.
In countless myths, she appeared in different forms.
A salmon.
A mare.
A seal.
A fly.
She had even incited wars among the gods in the Heavenly Realm.
At times, even gods couldn't see through her transformations.
That alone spoke of the power of her Metamorphosis magic.
And now, she had passed it on to Emiya.
Only after fully mastering it did Emiya truly understand how terrifying this magic was.
This wasn't a superficial change.
It was a complete transformation.
When he became a tiger, he was a real tiger.
When he became an eagle, he was a real eagle.
Even the most advanced scientific instruments would only detect an actual eagle.
Not a transformed human.
That was Loki's Metamorphosis.
It also carried a peculiar rule.
If Emiya turned into a fly, he would possess the strength of a fly.
Weak.
Fragile.
One careless moment, and an ordinary person could kill him with a swat.
But if he transformed into a giant dragon, he would gain the strength of a giant dragon.
Including dragon breath.
However, there was a prerequisite.
Before transforming, Emiya had to analyze the target's bodily structure.
Only after fully understanding it could he assume that form.
If he failed to do so, the transformation was impossible.
There was more.
Metamorphosis could be used on objects.
If Emiya understood the structure of stone and diamond, he could turn stone into diamond.
And diamond into stone.
It was similar to Transfiguration magic from another world.
That magic could turn a match into a needle.
A beetle into a button.
A lectern into a pig.
Loki's Metamorphosis could do the same.
Before Aqua and the others returned, Emiya analyzed everything in the mansion.
Tables.
Teacups.
Furniture.
Now, he could turn a table into a teacup.
Or a teacup into a sofa.
He had a lot of fun with it.
And more importantly, he understood its value.
This magic would make his future adventures far smoother.
As long as he analyzed enough monsters and objects, he could handle almost any situation with ease.
...
In the evening, Aqua and the others finally returned.
"You're back already? When did you get here?"
Aqua walked in holding two bottles of what looked like high-end sparkling wine.
She stared at Emiya in surprise. She had assumed he wouldn't return until at least tomorrow.
"I came back this afternoon," Emiya replied.
Kazuma glanced around.
"Where are Riveria and Ais?"
"They ran into something back home," Emiya said vaguely. "They decided to stay there and won't be coming back."
Kazuma was surprised, but he didn't press further.
Although they were in the same party, he wasn't particularly close to Riveria and Ais.
They usually operated as a duo, often taking missions elsewhere.
Aside from mornings and evenings, they rarely interacted.
Other than the lake purification quest, they had never really fought together.
They always felt somewhat detached.
So after a brief moment of surprise, everyone accepted it.
Aqua raised the sparkling wine.
"It's a shame Riveria and Ais aren't here, but since Emiya's back, let's have a big dinner to celebrate!"
"Yeah!!"
The mansion quickly filled with noise once again.
