After Nate discovered how the Khaos Brigade members had avoided the effects of the strange substances, the situation changed quickly.
One by one, the affected members had their devices removed and placed onto their bodies.
The result was immediate.
Their strength returned.
The Devils who had been struggling moments ago suddenly stood back up, while the Angels and Fallen Angels recovered from the effects that had weakened them.
Tobio watched carefully.
'So those devices really are countermeasures.'
Nate looked toward Agent X.
The strange Yo-kai seemed to realize that the battle was no longer going according to plan.
Agent X sighed.
"Well, it seems this isn't going how we planned."
He raised his hand.
A strange portal opened behind him.
Several Khaos Brigade members immediately began retreating toward it.
Nate's eyes narrowed.
"Hey! Don't think you can just—"
Agent X suddenly snapped his fingers.
One of the DG Troopers immediately pressed a button on its equipment.
The other DG Troopers followed.
Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
Their equipment activated.
Then they rushed toward the portal.
Nate blinked.
"They're running too?"
The DG Troopers disappeared through the portal one after another.
Agent X was the last to enter.
Before stepping through, he looked back at Nate with that same mysterious grin.
Then he vanished.
The portal closed.
For a moment, there was silence.
Nate stared at the empty space.
"...That was suspicious."
Azazel, still recovering, looked toward him.
"Suspicious is putting it mildly."
Tobio suddenly looked upward.
"Wait."
Everyone who could still move turned toward the ceiling.
The sky above Kyoto suddenly distorted.
A thin crack appeared across the air.
Crack...
Crack-crack...
The crack spread like glass breaking.
Sirzechs looked up.
"What is that?"
Michael's expression became serious.
"Something is coming through."
The crack suddenly split apart.
BOOM!
Something dropped from the opening and slammed into the ground.
Dust exploded outward.
Nate raised an arm to shield his face.
"What the hell?!"
The dust slowly cleared.
Something was standing in the crater.
It was a strange alien-like creature with a gunmetal-black body, a long head, a single red eye, enormous clawed hands and feet, and large bat-like wings stretching from its back. Its tail dragged behind it as its red claws dug into the ground.
Tobio stared.
"...What is that?"
The creature slowly raised its head.
Then another one dropped from the crack.
BOOM!
Then another.
BOOM!
Then another.
Within seconds, the battlefield was surrounded by them.
Nate's eyes widened.
He recognized them.
'Black Army.'
The small aliens spread their wings and surrounded the remaining forces.
Their single red eyes glowed.
Nate slowly lowered his arm.
"You've got to be kidding me."
One of the Black Army creatures opened its mouth.
A purple sphere of energy formed.
Azazel immediately raised his spear.
"Oh, come on."
Another Black Army member opened its wings.
Then another.
And another.
Nate looked around at the growing army.
"So that's what they meant by retreating."
Tobio tightened his stance.
"They weren't retreating."
Nate nodded.
"They were making room."
Suddenly, dozens of purple energy orbs began forming.
Nate's expression hardened.
"Everyone, get ready!"
The Black Army descended on the battlefield.
Purple energy spheres flew through the air.
"Incoming!" Tobio shouted.
Nate immediately moved.
"Everyone, spread out!"
The first wave of attacks slammed into the ground.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Stone and debris were thrown everywhere as the supernatural fighters scattered.
Rias grabbed Akeno and jumped away while Yuuto drew his sword. Koneko planted herself firmly and smashed one of the incoming spheres aside with her fist.
Serafall, now restored by the strange device, raised both hands.
"Okay! My turn!"
A massive wave of water erupted around her.
The Black Army suddenly changed formation.
Their wings spread wide.
Several of them flew upward while the others continued firing.
Serafall's eyes narrowed.
"They're coordinating."
"Of course they are," Nate said.
He watched the creatures carefully.
'These aren't random monsters.'
The Black Army moved like an organized military force, surrounding the battlefield and constantly adjusting their positions.
Nate raised his Yokai Watch.
"Yo-kai Watch!"
The Watch scanned one of the creatures.
A stream of information appeared.
Nate's eyes widened.
"...Yep."
Kunou looked at him.
"Husband?"
Nate pointed toward the creatures.
"They're Black Army."
Kunou blinked.
"Black Army?"
"Yeah. That's there name".
Tobio looked at him.
"You know them?"
Nate paused.
"...I know enough."
He wasn't going to explain that he had played the games and watched the series.
Not right now.
A Black Army soldier suddenly descended toward Nate.
Its massive claws swung downward.
Nate caught its arm.
The creature's eye widened.
Nate looked at it.
"Bad choice."
He spun around and threw it straight into another Black Army soldier.
BOOM!
Both creatures crashed into the ground.
Another one came from behind.
Nate ducked.
The creature's claws passed over his head.
He kicked it in the chest and sent it flying through several trees.
Azazel stared.
"He's treating those things like training dummies."
Sirzechs nodded.
"That's Nate."
Michael looked toward the sky.
More Black Army were still coming through the enormous crack.
His expression became serious.
"That's the problem."
Everyone looked up.
The crack was getting larger.
Much larger.
Hundreds of dark silhouettes could now be seen beyond it.
Tobio's expression hardened.
"How many are there?"
Azazel looked at the portal.
"Too many."
Suddenly, the Black Army stopped attacking.
Every single creature turned toward the sky.
Nate noticed.
"...Why did they stop?"
The answer came immediately.
A massive pulse of energy erupted from the crack.
The entire battlefield shook.
The Black Army lowered themselves.
Almost as if they were waiting for something.
Nate's eyes narrowed.
"Something's coming."
Serafall moved beside him.
"Something bigger?"
Nate looked upward.
"Much bigger."
The crack widened.
Then a gigantic shadow began descending through it.
Tobio tightened his grip on his weapon.
"Everyone, prepare yourselves!"
The shadow continued to emerge.
Nate's expression became completely serious.
'So this is what the Black Army was here for.'
The enormous figure finally began to emerge from the dimensional rift.
And every member of the Black Army immediately bowed.
Nate stared upward.
"...You've got to be kidding me."
The enormous dimensional crack remained open above Kyoto.
Then something stepped through.
A Grey Agent.
The alien descended toward the battlefield, its strange body surrounded by an eerie presence.
Nate just stared at it.
A small tick mark appeared on his forehead.
He slowly looked around.
The peace meeting.
The Khaos Brigade attack.
The strange weapons.
Agent X.
The DG Troopers.
Serafall nearly getting speared.
The Black Army.
And now a Grey Agent.
Nate's eye twitched.
'Meeting.'
He looked toward the destroyed conference building.
'Khaos Brigade.'
He looked at the scattered debris.
'Attack.'
He looked toward Agent X's retreating portal.
'Agent X.'
Then he looked toward the Black Army surrounding them.
'Black Army.'
Finally, his eyes settled on the Grey Agent.
'And now Grey Agent.'
His patience finally snapped.
Nate threw his hands into the air.
"You know what?! Fuck this!"
Everyone froze.
Nate pointed toward the sky.
"Fuck today!"
He pointed toward the Black Army.
"Fuck these things!"
He pointed toward the Grey Agent.
"And fuck whatever the hell is happening anymore!"
Kunou blinked.
"Husband?"
Nate took a deep breath.
"Let today just END!"
He raised his hand toward the sky.
"SUSANOO!"
Silence.
For approximately two seconds.
Then the heavens answered.
BOOOOOOM!
A gigantic golden aura erupted around Nate.
Everyone immediately shielded their eyes.
"What the?!" Issei shouted.
The golden light spiraled around Nate's body, forming enormous rings of energy.
Far away, in the Japanese Heaven...
Susanoo suddenly stopped.
He slowly looked around.
"...Did someone just call my name?"
He glanced toward the mortal realm.
"...Nate?"
Meanwhile, back on the battlefield, the golden energy around Nate intensified.
The aura began condensing.
Armor formed around his body.
Golden energy covered his limbs and torso, while blazing symbols appeared across the armor.
Two enormous golden orbs materialized behind him.
Then another.
And another.
The energy became so dense that the ground beneath Nate cracked.
Everyone stared.
Nate stood in the center of the golden light.
The power wasn't simply surrounding him.
It was inside him.
His Yokai energy, divine energy, and the newly awakened power were intertwining together.
The golden aura suddenly surged.
BOOM!
The entire battlefield was illuminated.
Issei's jaw dropped.
"Did he just pull something from a fictional manga?!"
Azazel blinked several times.
"I..."
He stared at Nate.
"...think he unlocked a new power-up."
Vali looked at Nate.
Then at the Black Army.
Then back at Nate.
He slowly raised an eyebrow.
"Imagine being so pissed off at how your day is going that you unlock a new power-up purely out of frustration."
Issei nodded.
"Honestly, that's kind of badass."
Serafall's eyes sparkled.
"That's my boyfriend!"
Kunou smiled proudly.
"That's my husband."
Tobio simply stared.
'What kind of person gets angry enough to unlock divine power?'
The Grey Agent didn't move.
The Black Army didn't move either.
For the first time since they had arrived, the entire battlefield seemed to be waiting.
Nate slowly raised his head.
His eyes were now glowing with golden energy.
He looked at the Grey Agent.
"Okay."
He cracked his knuckles.
"You're the last straw."
The golden Susanoo power exploded around him.
"Let's finish this already."
The enormous golden Susanoo towered over the battlefield.
Nate stood within its chest, his expression completely exhausted.
He didn't look angry anymore.
He just looked like someone who desperately wanted to go home.
The Grey Agent looked up.
The Black Army surrounding it suddenly became uneasy.
Nate slowly raised his hand.
The giant Susanoo mirrored the movement.
Its enormous golden hand reached toward the sky.
Then golden energy began gathering between its fingers.
The light grew brighter.
And brighter.
And brighter.
A gigantic golden sword began materializing in its grasp.
The blade alone was larger than several buildings.
Issei stared upward.
"...That's a sword?"
Azazel's mouth twitched.
"Technically."
Vali looked at the enormous weapon.
"That's not a sword. That's a natural disaster with a handle."
Nate didn't care.
He tightened his grip.
"Now..."
The Susanoo raised the gigantic blade above its head.
Nate looked directly at the Grey Agent.
"Let's end this."
The Grey Agent suddenly raised its arms.
The entire Black Army moved at once.
Hundreds of purple energy attacks were launched toward Nate.
Nate didn't even flinch.
The Susanoo simply swung its free hand.
A gigantic golden barrier appeared.
Every single attack collided with it.
BOOOOOOM!
The battlefield shook.
The barrier didn't even crack.
Nate sighed.
"Can we please stop making this take longer?"
He brought the sword down.
"Susanoo..."
The golden blade erupted with divine energy.
"...Heaven-Splitting Strike!"
The Susanoo swung.
The sword didn't merely cut through the Black Army.
A gigantic golden slash traveled across the battlefield, passing over the ground and through the dimensional crack above them.
The Black Army was completely overwhelmed.
One after another, the creatures were struck by the wave of golden energy and forcibly blasted away from the battlefield.
The Grey Agent attempted to resist.
It crossed its arms and released everything it had.
The collision created a massive explosion of golden and purple energy.
For several seconds, nobody could see anything.
Then...
Silence.
The golden light faded.
The dimensional crack above Kyoto had been completely sealed.
The Black Army was gone.
The Grey Agent was gone.
The battlefield was still standing, although several structures had definitely seen better days.
Nate's Susanoo slowly disappeared.
Nate landed on the ground.
He looked around.
"...Is it over?"
Nobody answered immediately.
Nate looked toward the sky.
No portals.
No aliens.
No Black Army.
No Grey Agent.
No more explosions.
He nodded.
"Good."
He immediately turned around.
"I'm going home."
Issei stared at him.
"That's it?!"
Nate looked over his shoulder.
"Issei, I have had the longest day of my life."
He pointed toward the destroyed conference area.
"I was supposed to attend a peace meeting."
He pointed toward the battlefield.
"Instead, we got attacked by the Khaos Brigade."
He pointed toward the empty sky.
"Then Agent X showed up."
He raised another finger.
"Then weird anti-supernatural weapons."
Another finger.
"Then Serafall almost got stabbed."
Serafall raised her hand.
"Technically, almost!"
Nate continued.
"Then Black Army."
He looked toward where the Grey Agent had been.
"And then that guy."
He lowered his hand.
"So yes."
Nate started walking away.
"I'm done."
Azazel watched him leave.
"...He really did all of that because he wanted the day to end."
Vali crossed his arms.
"I respect it."
Issei nodded.
"Honestly, same."
Tobio looked at the enormous crater left behind by the final attack.
'He could have ended the fight much earlier.'
He glanced toward Nate.
'He just decided to use enough power to make absolutely certain nothing else showed up.'
Serafall hurried after Nate.
"Wait for me, boyfriend!"
Kunou followed immediately.
"Husband!"
Nate stopped.
He looked toward the two girls.
"...Fine."
He sighed.
"Let's go home."
Behind them, Azazel stared at the destruction.
He slowly looked at Sirzechs.
"Are we still having the peace meeting?"
Sirzechs looked at the ruined conference hall.
"...I think we need to rebuild it first."
