He stared at the two groups.

"Those two."

"I don't recognize them."
Nate's eyes narrowed.
"Neither do I."

He recognized what they were.
But he had no idea why they were here.

Agent X suddenly looked directly toward Nate.

Far away, hidden from every faction present, a black feather drifted down onto the roof of a nearby building.
It touched the tiles.
Then vanished.
No one noticed.
Not Nate.
Not Yasaka.
Not Azazel.
Not Sirzechs.
Nobody.
The Black Wings had made their move.
And they had just given Nate his first clue that someone else was pulling strings behind the attack.
High above the battlefield, a figure floated in the sky, looking down at the gathering below.
Katerea Leviathan surveyed the chaos with a confident smile.
Her eyes briefly moved toward Agent X and the rows of DG Troopers.
'Those two are still strange.'
They had only recently joined the Khaos Brigade, and Katerea still wasn't entirely sure what to make of them. A Yo-kai in a suit and a group of bizarre soldiers that didn't seem to belong to any supernatural faction she knew.
But she couldn't deny the results.
'Whatever they are, they're useful.'
Katerea then turned her attention toward the leaders gathered below.
She raised her voice, making sure everyone could hear her.
"Hello, faction leaders. I am Katerea Leviathan, member of the Khaos Brigade."

But the battle wasn't going particularly well for the attackers.
Cao Cao had already cut through several enemies with the True Longinus.
Tobio moved through another group with frightening speed.
Rias and her peerage were holding their position.
The Yokai guards were coordinating with the former HERO members surprisingly well.
And the Three Faction leaders hadn't even entered the fight seriously yet.
Nate looked back at Katerea.
"...You know you're losing, right?"
Katerea's eye twitched.
"We have barely begun."
"Sure."
"Nate."
"Hm?"
"Stop talking as though this is already over."
Nate shrugged.
"Okay."
He paused.
"It's already over."
Issei snorted.
Rias immediately covered her mouth.
Even Yasaka had to suppress a smile.
Katerea's face darkened.
"You arrogant little—"
A sudden burst of energy interrupted her.
A group of Khaos Brigade members launched attacks toward the meeting hall.

Katerea gritted her teeth.
"Then we'll break him first."
She raised her hand.
A massive wave of demonic energy formed above the battlefield.
Nate looked up.
"That's your plan?"
Katerea smiled.
"Let's see how confident you are after this."
The attack descended.
Nate didn't dodge.
He simply raised one hand.
Golden energy gathered around his palm.
Then he released it.
The two energies collided.
For several seconds, the sky shook.
Then Nate's Spirit Bond pushed through Katerea's attack.
The demonic energy shattered into countless fragments of light.
Katerea's eyes widened.
Nate looked at her.

Nate sighed.
"Look, Katerea. I'm not interested in fighting you just because you want revenge."
His expression became more serious.
"This meeting was supposed to establish peace."
He pointed toward the battlefield.
"You attacked it."

"So now I'm going to stop you."

"Then come and stop me."
Nate prepared to move.
But before he could—
Agent X suddenly appeared behind Katerea.
"Katerea."
She looked back.

"Your forces are being overwhelmed."
Katerea looked down.

Vali was tearing through opponents with a grin on his face.
Issei's Boosted Gear was roaring with power.
And the Yokai forces were steadily pushing the attackers away from the meeting building.
Katerea clenched her fist.
"Then we'll increase the pressure."
Agent X simply nodded.
The DG Troopers suddenly changed formation.
Nate watched them carefully.
'Again.'
Their movements were too coordinated.
Too precise.
'Someone trained them.'
He focused his Spirit Bond on them.
For just a moment, Nate sensed something strange.

Something he couldn't identify.
Then it disappeared.

He couldn't tell what it was.
But he was certain of one thing.

Agent X looked at him.

"Wouldn't you like to know?"
Nate's eyes narrowed.
"Yeah."
He raised his sword.
"That's why I'm asking."
Agent X's smile widened.
"Then perhaps you'll have to find out the hard way."
Nate sighed.
"Everyone keeps saying that today."
Kunou stepped beside him, fox flames dancing around her.
"Husband."
Nate glanced at her.
"Yeah?"
"Should we deal with them?"
Nate looked toward Agent X and the DG Troopers.
Then toward Katerea.
Then toward the Khaos Brigade surrounding the battlefield.
"...Yeah."
His golden aura erupted.
"But let's start with the people who actually declared war on us."
Katerea's expression hardened.
Nate smiled.
"Ready?"
Kunou smiled back.
"Always."
The two vanished in a burst of golden and crimson energy.
Katerea's eyes widened.
"Where did they—"
A golden streak suddenly appeared directly in front of her.
Nate's sword was already swinging.
Katerea barely managed to raise her barrier.
BOOM!
The impact shook the entire sky.
Nate then kicked her aways as she crashed on the ground, as he then looked at Agent X
