Chapter 273 - Chapter 272: Tang San’s Anger

'The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan was actually exterminated by Dugu Bo?'

'Damn it! What Cloud Sea Cultivation Method! That's clearly my Mysterious Heaven Technique, just slightly altered! Despicable! To think Yang Yunhai dared to publish my Tang Sect's core secret art and pass it off as his own—what a fraud, stealing fame that isn't his!'

'Unforgivable! He deserves death!'

Upon arriving in the human world and learning the latest news of the soul master world, both Tang Hao and Tang San were shaken.

Tang Hao's expression turned grim. Dugu Bo being able to easily kill Yu Yuanzhen, a rank 95 Titled Douluo, along with eight Soul Douluo attackers, was proof of terrifying strength. As for Yang Yunhai, his ability to sense enemies in the forest made him extremely difficult to ambush. To kill him in one strike, without leaving a trace of suspicion, would be no easy matter. Otherwise, the repercussions would be endless.

Yang Yunhai's current prestige in the soul master world was simply too high. If they struck and were exposed, they would immediately become the target of all.

Even the Clear Sky Sect could be implicated.

Tang San, meanwhile, was furious—an anger so deep that the killing intent he unconsciously released was strong enough for Tang Hao to notice.

Tang Hao frowned. "Restrain yourself."

It seemed his decision to let Tang Yuehua temper Tang San for a while had been correct. With this sort of temperament, how could he hope to pass through the Hell Road?

Tang San finally came back to his senses, gritting his teeth and forcefully pressing down the rage burning in his chest.

"Let's go." Tang Hao turned and walked away from the public notice board, his tone cold and indifferent.

Tang San said nothing, only following silently behind.

That night, beside a campfire in the wild, father and son sat cross-legged cultivating.

"This Cloud Sea Cultivation Method… its effects are actually better than my Mysterious Heaven Technique!"

Just after a simple attempt, Tang San's heart trembled in shock.

At once, he calmed himself and continued cultivating. If there was a superior method, why would he cling to the weaker one?

Still, his inner killing intent did not subside.

'Yang Yunhai… one day, I will personally cut you down!'

Even if it was improved, theft was still theft. Even if he benefited, that fact did not change. And Yang Yunhai's very existence was already a sin that deserved death.

"This cultivation method even helps suppress my hidden injuries…" Tang Hao was also inwardly surprised.

'What are Yang Yunhai and Dugu Bo really after?' he wondered. He could not believe the two were simply acting out of goodwill.

Still, he had to admit—this was beneficial for him. It gave more assurance for his coming plans.

With that, he pushed aside further thoughts and quietly cultivated, using the cultivation method to temper his injuries.

Time passed, and both eventually opened their eyes.

"Father, the road ahead passes through many towns. Continuing to avoid the world and skulk through wilderness will only lengthen our journey. It isn't sustainable," Tang San said. "I have learned some disguise techniques. Perhaps we can try them."

"If we capture a few bandits along the way and strip their faces to make human-skin masks, we can easily pass for them."

"This method may sound cruel, but bandits have blood on their hands already. Killing one or two is merely delivering justice."

The Tang Sect specialized in assassination. Disguise was a required skill, so naturally Tang San was versed in it.

'All because of Yang Yunhai. If not for him, father and I wouldn't need to live like fugitives, forced into such desperate measures!'

Tang Hao's brows knit slightly, but soon eased. He was not one to hesitate. Their destination was Moon Pavilion in Heaven Dou City, where exposure was a serious risk. If Tang San's masks could truly pass as real, it would be a reliable way to hide their identities.

Even if they were seen when capturing Yang Yunhai, as long as they didn't release their martial souls, no one could prove anything.

"We'll see on the way," Tang Hao replied flatly.

The next day, father and son continued their journey. Along the road, they encountered a group of destitute refugees.

Without the slightest hesitation, Tang Hao released his pressure, stunning them all. He then casually killed two men of suitable build—a middle-aged man and a youth.

Even Tang San was momentarily stunned by the decisiveness of his father's actions.

Tang Hao, however, remained calm. He ordered Tang San to skin their faces and craft the masks, then crushed the corpses to ash with a wave of his hand.

"Two worthless lives," he said indifferently. "Dead or alive, it makes no difference."

Afterward, they continued on their way.

During breaks, Tang San prepared the masks by soaking the skin in special solutions inside his soul tool. By the third day, the disguises were complete.

When they reached Sunset Forest, father and son had already changed their appearances completely.

With Tang Hao's strength, traversing Sunset Forest was no challenge. In only two days, he helped Tang San hunt a suitable soul beast.

Since a second awakening of Blue Silver Grass wasn't possible for now, Tang Hao decided to focus on strengthening Tang San's Clear Sky Hammer instead—especially with the Slaughter City trial ahead. Against those enemies, a weak martial soul would not suffice.

Thus, Tang San chose a 16,000-year-old Man-Faced Demon Spider. Tang Hao approved.

Hours later, after the absorption was complete—

"Father, my soul power has reached rank 52," Tang San reported at once. "My new skill is called Spider God Possession. When I activate it, all my attributes are enhanced, similar to a martial soul avatar."

In truth, he didn't understand why he had acquired such a skill. Logically, this should only appear in beast martial souls, especially spider-type ones. Could it be the accumulation of multiple animal soul rings had altered his Blue Silver Grass? Or was it because he had absorbed too many spider-type poisonous beasts, mutating his martial soul?

Tang Hao was astonished as well, though pleased. Only high-level Man-Faced Demon Spiders could produce this skill. It was the species' strongest ability—Spider God Possession. A powerful amplification skill indeed.

Its flaw was soul power consumption, but its power was tremendous.

"How much does it consume?" Tang Hao asked.

"At my current level, I can last ten minutes at most," Tang San answered. "But if I also use other soul skills during battle, it'll be even shorter."

Tang Hao nodded. "Ten minutes is enough to end a fight. As a trump card, it's acceptable. Let's go."

"Father, can I absorb this spider's poison into my Eight Spider Lances?" Tang San suddenly asked. "They come from the same source. If I absorb its venom, the soul bone will surely grow stronger."

Tang Hao frowned, then gave a small nod.

"Thank you, Father." Tang San's eyes lit up. He released his Eight Spider Lances, stabbing them into the corpse.

Dark purple energy coursed into the lances. Soon, their blood-red glow became brighter, sharper, even crystalline like rubies.

Tang Hao's eyes narrowed. 'It evolved?'

Tang San, too, was thrilled. He clearly felt the Eight Spider Lances' enhancement grow stronger.

The spider's corpse withered away, until nothing remained but a husk. Tang San withdrew his lances.

"Come. Give me your hand," Tang Hao ordered.

"Yes, Father." Tang San obeyed, stepping forward.

Tang Hao pressed his hand, channeling soul power to inspect him. His heart flickered in surprise—there were no impurities. Was it fewer toxins produced, the soul bone's evolution, or their shared origin?

He couldn't be certain. But he didn't want Tang San to become reliant on such methods.

He released his hand and said calmly, "On the road, I'll temper your body again."

A wry smile rose on Tang San's face, but he nodded obediently. He knew his father meant well.

"Let's go." Tang Hao turned away, his expression unchanged.

Tang San followed silently.
