For a long moment, Snow Jiang simply stood there, staring at the elderly housekeeper as though she had heard something impossible.
"A… private tea gathering?" she repeated softly, uncertainty flickering across her delicate features.
The housekeeper smiled kindly. "Yes, Mrs. Qinn. Old Madam rarely invites outsiders personally, but today she specifically requested that I deliver the invitation to you."
Snow lowered her eyes, appearing almost overwhelmed by the honor. "I… I'm afraid I don't understand."
"There is nothing to understand," the housekeeper replied with a gentle chuckle. "Old Madam simply enjoyed meeting you today."
Snow hesitated before lightly biting her lower lip, looking as though the invitation had made her nervous. "I don't know whether I'll fit in…"
The old housekeeper laughed. "Neither did many of us when we first met Old Madam. She's much kinder than she appears."
Snow nodded obediently. "Then… I'll come."
