Chapter 114 - The Entry

"Zz… Alpha Team in position!"

"Zz… Snipers ready!"

"Zz… Beta Team preparing for intervention—eliminate any suspicious figures!"

Jonathan, standing at the center of the tavern, stopped firing. His gaze swept across the place and soon he noticed that, at first, the vampires had stopped attacking.

"Everyone who hasn't been bitten, get behind me, quickly!" shouted Father Doug, who had just thrown several holy water bombs.

All the survivors—who were watching figures in masks and with swords decapitating the corpses on the floor—began to move toward Father Doug, who had suddenly turned into a killing machine.

Jonathan approached a door that connected to the basement. He sensed a powerful presence there, so he asked, "How long has it been since the last time you felt threatened?"

There was silence after Jonathan's words, so he changed the question: "How old are you?"

At that moment, the figure behind the door smiled faintly and said, "Millennia—millennia of pure experience!"

"Have you always been this careless? You let yourself get discovered so easily. With all those trucks parked behind the bar, you didn't even try to hide. But now that the hunters are here—aren't you afraid?" Jonathan asked, analyzing the kind of enemy he was about to face.

"Things happen for a reason. Your kind has been hunting down all the members of my tribe, so it seems like the right time to collect a bit of that debt." The figure behind the door smiled faintly, though he felt threatened.

He knew all the organizations that hunted vampires, especially the Hunters—a group of highly trained humans that allowed the Belmont family to rise as one of the most daring families in the extermination of supernatural beings.

The entire supernatural world that lived among humans feared The Order. All those who wished to live peacefully were terrified of being found by exorcist priests or hunters.

"How about a one-on-one fight?" Jonathan suddenly asked, wanting to make the vampire lose his composure.

The figure smiled and shook his head. "It doesn't work that way. Do you think I can't feel all those hearts beating behind you like a pack of babysitters?"

"Will you tell me your name?" Jonathan asked once more as he holstered his pistols.

"Many have called me Milu, but there's no need to keep talking. I'll kill you in a few moments."

"Then I suppose words are unnecessary. Between humans and vampires, we always have to come out on top. But it's not about hatred—it's about survival. And my job is to eliminate you." Jonathan slowly backed away from the door.

Boom!

At the same time, the bar's entrance exploded, and a squad of twenty soldiers under Servando's command stepped forward to surround the area and advance toward the section where the hidden basement was located.

The weapons being used were metal harpoons and net guns—modern devices used against supernatural beings that needed to be captured, kept alive, or simply subdued.

The harpoons, on the other hand, were used to suppress and kill the main vampire, while the soldiers carrying the net launchers would handle the transformed vampires.

"Zz… Moving in to plant bombs!"

A soldier slowly advanced toward the door while the agents covered him. After placing an explosive on the door and on the windows, he backed away to detonate them.

Taking a radio, Jonathan scanned the surroundings and, once he confirmed everything was normal, reported, "Zz… Begin the operation!"

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Three sharp explosions echoed, and right after that, several soldiers threw silver grenades that exploded instantly—thus initiating the operation.

Arghhhhh!

Right in the room to the right of the entrance, there were two vampires. These were soldiers Morbius had left behind to defend the entrance and buy time. But as soon as one of the soldiers saw them, he stepped forward and pulled the trigger on his net gun.

Bang!

The vampire, shrieking under the rain of silver, was immediately captured. His melting body was slammed against the wall, and no matter how much he struggled, he couldn't break free.

"Zz… Entrance secured. Clear the rear section."

Jonathan stopped at the entrance, watching as the elite soldiers advanced through the doors and dragged vampires out of the building by force.

"Don't let them bite you. They say becoming a vampire is a truly terrifying experience," murmured Jonathan as he saw two soldiers being thrown violently down the stairs.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

But immediately afterward, two more soldiers below fired multiple harpoons, pinning two vampires to the wall. Without caring if they were hurt or not, another soldier quickly launched a net to subdue them.

The suits worn by The Order's special soldiers were fully armored—they had no weak spots and were practically war machines. It was true they were slow due to the excessive weight of their armor, but their survival rate was incredibly high.

"Second floor secured!"

"Zz… Five more vampires neutralized."

Seth, who wanted to prevent those people from burning his brother's body, was stopped by Jacob, who said, "Don't do it. These people don't care about us—they're here for those monsters."

"How do you know that?" asked Seth, grabbing Jacob by his cross.

Jacob frowned and murmured, "There are billions of humans in the world. What do you think it matters to them if a few die, as long as they win the final battle against those demons? In the end, if they kill everyone here, they'll save more people than you can imagine."

"Dad!"

"That's the truth. If we're a burden, they'll leave us behind," murmured Jacob, remembering fragments of his past life as an exorcist priest.

"Zz… Area secured. Beginning operation toward the basement."

"Then this time I'll go first. Prepare a small five-man team—we need to make sure we don't walk into a trap," said Jonathan, looking at Father Doug, who was standing on top of a table. "I'll be back soon. Take care of Wednesday."

"I can take care of myself," Wednesday reminded Jonathan, who had personally killed several dark entities.

"Finish off those horrible things."

"Beginning elimination operation."

"Understood, Captain!"
