Since Eleanor's title as the King's consort was removed, the palace wasn't mourning her and so was Lucas.
The only palace that seemed concerned with Eleanor's death was Georgina.
Outside the King's study, Nathan bowed politely to Catherine before announcing her presence to him.
"Your Majesty, concubine Catherine is here."
Lucas lifted his gaze briefly from the scroll in his hand.
"Let her in."
Taking the tray in her hands, she entered together with Emily and bowed with a light smile.
"Your Majesty, forgive the intrusion. I prepared some food. I was worried that you might not have eaten properly."
Lucas nodded slightly, setting the scroll aside.
"You need not trouble yourself to bring it in person. Next time, have a maid deliver it." he told her and picked a new scroll.
"It's no trouble," Catherine replied softly.
"It is the least I can do to repay you for sparing me the last time and vindicating me."
Lucas nodded, not sure where she is driving at.
