The alpha sat on the large sectional couch, his massive frame taking up the center cushions. Just sitting in the dim city light filtering through the windows, staring at nothing.
A glass sat on the coffee table in front of him, amber liquid catching what little light there was. Noah's jacket was gone, his shirt unbuttoned at the collar, sleeves rolled up to his elbows. His dreadlocks hung loose around his face instead of tied back.
He looked exhausted.
When Levi entered the room, Noah's eyes tracked to him. Slowly, like even that small movement required effort. But he didn't say anything. He just looked at Levi with an expression that was too exhausted to be carefully neutral.
Levi stopped a few feet from the couch. "You've been drinking."
"Yeah." Noah's voice was rough, like he hadn't used it in hours.
