Chapter 31 - 31: The Saintess, The Tyrant, and The Forgotten God

The sky over the Luoshui World did not simply darken; it solidified.

Just as the Emperor-Clone's pressure began to crush the peaks, the atmosphere shattered a second time.

Nine terrifying pillars of light descended from the tear in the void, locking the Spirit Mountain Range into a dimension of absolute stillness.

The birds froze in mid-flight; the waterfalls hung suspended like curtains of crystal.

This was not a visit. It was a divine blockade.

Nine figures materialized in the void above the mountain.

Seven of them were draped in robes of abyssal darkness, their faces hidden, emanating the suffocating aura of the Quasi-Saint Realm.

They stood as silent executioners, their very presence turning the clouds to ash.

In front of them stood a man whose eyes flowed like liquid mercury, a Holy Lord in his own right.

But even he stood a half-step behind the true leader of this descent.

She wore a dress of emerald green that seemed woven from the leaves of the World Tree, and her face was obscured by a veil of shimmering moonlight.

Gu Yue Xuan, the Saintess of the High Heavens, looked down upon the world.

Her gaze swept across the mountain.

For a fleeting microsecond, her eyes passed over Shen Xuan and the silver wolf, Wang Lei.

She saw them.

But she did not perceive them.

To a Saintess, a boy with no cultivation ripples and a beast were nothing more than dust on a chessboard.

In her eyes, Shen Xuan was merely an unfortunate mortal caught in the crossfire of gods.

She dismissed him instantly, her arrogance blinding her to the predator sitting calmly on the rock.

Her sapphire eyes locked onto the only thing that mattered: The Golden-Robed Man standing in the void. The Source-Clone.

Her heart skipped a beat.

The difference in their strength was a chasm that no technique could bridge. She was a Saint, a ruler of laws.

But he... he was an Emperor, a ruler of reality. Even though it was merely a clone, the density of his existence warped the light around him, making it painful to look at him directly.

Fear clawed at her Dao Heart. But she had a trump card.

Gu Yue Xuan took a step forward, the moonlight around her forming a protective barrier against the Emperor's crushing will.

She raised her hand, revealing a token forged from Celestial Gold, pulsating with the undeniable authority of the Heavenly Registry.

"Who are you?" Her voice was cold, carrying the weight of the galactic law. "Show me your Registry Token."

The Emperor-Clone did not tremble. He did not cower. Instead, he tilted his head, his golden eyes narrowing as they dissected her existence.

"Ohh..." The Clone's voice rumbled like distant thunder, laced with a terrifying, predatory amusement.

"So, you are the Holy Lord guarding this galaxy? I expected an old monster... but this bone structure... this vitality..."

His gaze pierced through her defensive aura, stripping away the sanctity of her station.

"Looking at your talent, you do not seem old. In fact, your bone-age is less than a hundred years. To reach the Saint Realm in a single century..."

A crescent smile, sharp and vicious, carved itself onto his face. "Your talent is quite... delectable."

Gu Yue Xuan felt a wave of nausea crash over her. His eyes were not looking at her cultivation; they were ravaging her dignity.

It was a look of absolute ownership, the look a dragon gives to a particularly shiny gemstone it intends to drag back to its lair.

"Disgusting," she thought, her knuckles whitening around the golden token. But she forced herself to remain rigid.

"State your purpose for descending into the Middle Universe," Gu Yue Xuan demanded, her voice rising to combat his pressure.

"If there is no solid proof of authorization... even if you are a Supreme, you know the methods of the Heavenly Registry Token Hall. The Law of the High Planes does not forgive intruders."

She was gambling on the System. She was using the bureaucracy of the Heavens as a shield against a monster.

"Ohh... so you came here just for this? Just to recite laws?" The Source-Clone let out a sigh, his expression shifting from amusement to a bored disappointment. He treated her threat as one would treat the buzzing of a fly.

He took a slow, deliberate step toward her. The space between them collapsed.

"Chh... chh..." The Clone clicked his tongue, shaking his head mockingly.

"You have such a beautiful face, hidden beneath that cold exterior. Why hide the moon behind a cloud?"

He raised a hand, his fingers twitching as if he intended to tear the moonlight veil from her face across the distance.

"Show me your face, little Saintess," the Emperor-Clone purred, his lust undisguised and heavy as a mountain. "If you please me... perhaps I will tell you my purpose for coming here. Or perhaps... I will take you back to my domain and let you study the 'Emperor's Law' personally."

High above on the jagged peak, the wind had ceased to blow.

The world held its breath, caught between the lecherous gaze of a tyrant and the cold fury of a saint.

Shen Xuan sat motionless, his posture as ancient as the bedrock beneath him. He did not look like a cultivator facing the apocalypse; he looked like a scholar watching a play he had already critiqued a thousand years ago.

In his lap lay Wang Lei, the terrifying Silver Frost Wolf now reduced to the size of a pup, its fur trembling slightly not from fear, but from the sheer density of the killing intent saturating the air..

Shen Xuan's pale, slender hand rested gently on the wolf's head, his fingers rhythmically stroking the soft fur. It was a gesture of absolute tranquility in the eye of a cosmic storm.

"Watch closely, Little Lei," Shen Xuan whispered, his voice a ghost of a sound that didn't travel beyond the wolf's ears.

"The arrogance of the strong is often their first grave."

Below them, the Emperor-Clone's patience snapped.

"You dare use silence against me?" The Clone's voice dropped an octave, the playful lust vanishing, replaced by the terrifying, annihilating pressure of a ruler denied.

"I offered you a path to the heavens, little Saintess. Since you refuse to show your face, I will simply peel this world apart until I find what pleases me."

He raised his right hand. It wasn't a technique; it was a command to reality.

The space around the Spirit Mountain Range began to scream.

Golden runes, each heavy enough to crush a star, manifested in the void.

The Emperor-Clone didn't target Gu Yue Xuan directly; he targeted the space she occupied. He intended to collapse the dimension itself, forcing her to kneel or be erased.

"Kneel!"

Boom!

A golden palm, the size of a continent, materialized from the ether. It descended with the slow, inevitable weight of a falling sky.

The peaks of the Spirit Mountain groaned, rocks turning to dust before the palm even touched them.

Shen Xuan's eyes narrowed slightly, a flicker of purple-gold light dancing in his pupils. He pressed his hand down on Wang Lei, shielding the beast's soul from the shockwave.

"Now," Shen Xuan murmured.

Gu Yue Xuan did not kneel. Her emerald dress whipped violently in the gale of the Emperor's pressure, but her eyes, visible through the moonlight veil, burned with a cold, terrifying brilliance.

"This is the Azure Star Galaxy," she stated, her voice resonating not with air, but with the laws of the universe.

"Here, the Registry is the Sky. And I am its Warden."

She raised the Golden Token high above her head.

"Grand Formation of the Luoshui World... Awaken!"

Instantly, the ground beneath the Spirit Mountain turned transparent.

Veins of blinding blue light erupted from the earth, shooting into the sky like reverse lightning.

But it didn't stop there. The sky tore open, revealing the starry void of the Azure Star Galaxy.

Every star in the visible quadrant flared. The power of a billion suns was channeled through the ancient, dormant arrays of the galaxy, focusing into a single, needle-point beam directly onto Gu Yue Xuan's token.

"Law Dissolution!"

She swept her hand forward. The galaxy moved with her.

The massive golden palm of the Emperor-Clone met the blue tide of the Galaxy's Will.

There was no explosion. There was no fire. There was only Erasure.

The golden energy hissed, dissolving like snow falling into a volcano.

The Emperor's attack was not blocked; it was unmade.

The laws of the Luoshui World rejected his foreign energy, stripping the attack down to its component atoms and scattering them into the void.

Cracccck।।।!

The backlash was catastrophic.

The golden palm disintegrated, but the force of the collision shattered the physical world. The Spirit Mountain Range could no longer sustain the pressure.

With a deafening roar, the main peak, the very spine of the range, cracked down the middle.

Massive boulders, the size of cities, began to slide into the abyss. The sanctuary was gone.

Dust and chaotic energy swallowed the world.

Amidst the falling ruin, on a fragment of the shattering peak that was slowly sliding into destruction, Shen Xuan remained seated.

A barrier of invisible, distorted space, fueled by the remnants of his earlier zither formation, wrapped around him and Wang Lei like a cocoon.

He watched the Emperor-Clone stumble back, a look of genuine shock on the tyrant's face.

He watched Gu Yue Xuan panting, her face pale behind the veil, the cost of mobilizing a galaxy taking its toll.

"A stalemate," Shen Xuan whispered, lifting Wang Lei as the rock beneath them crumbled into freefall.

"The Saint used the shield of the system. The Emperor used the hammer of the intruder. Both are exhausted."

He stood up on the falling debris, his silver hair dancing in the chaotic wind.

"Perfect."
