Then Gu Yue Xuan looked back at Lin Xinxin.
"Miss Lin, you will have to wait for a few days. This seat has some matters to deal with regarding formations. It seems some intruders are attacking a formation arranged in a certain lower world. If this is within this seat's control, we may head toward that world for now."
Lin Xinxin looked at Gu Yue Xuan calmly, nodded, and left the hall.
Staring at Lin Xinxin as she departed, Gu Yue Xuan thought of something.
Then her token lit up.
A bright light was emitted from the silver token she was holding.
"Holy Lord, we have found the coordinates of the formation where the disturbance was detected," a man's voice came from the silver token.
"Oh… okay. Then wait for me. I will be there soon," she replied into the token, and then disappeared into the void.
In a different dimension, where countless stars shone brightly, and a massive formation supported the space.
In the middle of the cosmos, a few men stood there, gazing at the vast formation before them.
The vast formation pulsed softly, layers of light flowing like slow tides across the void.
At its very center, a faint speck flickered intermittently, no larger than a grain of dust, yet it drew the attention of everyone present.
One of the men narrowed his eyes while his fingers moved as he adjusted the floating formation plate before him. Runes rippled outward, responding to his will.
"The detection node confirmed it again," he said in a low voice. "There was a trace of intrusion here."
Another man frowned, stepping closer. "Impossible. This formation spans multiple planes. Even sensing it should require at least eighth-grade formation mastery to access the sixth-grade formation, so quickly."
"That is exactly the problem," the first replied. "The intruder reached the holy-grade outer layer."
The group fell silent for a moment, not knowing what to do.
A third man spoke, his tone heavy. "But when the holy-grade layer activated, his soul should have been seized instantly. There is no path forward after that threshold."
"Yes," the second man agreed. "The holy-grade section is directly linked to the higher law network. Any unauthorized soul that touches it should be marked, restrained, and erased or captured. There is no exception."
"Yet," the first man said slowly, "there was no backlash recorded beyond the initial disturbance. No soul capture. No residual imprint."
That sentence sent a chill through the group.
"Are you saying," someone asked quietly, "that the intruder escaped, without even leaving the soul mark?"
"No," the first man replied after a pause. "Not escaped. More like… withdrawn. As if he realized what he was touching and retreated before the formation could complete its response."
"That is even more terrifying," another muttered. "To sense danger at that level means his perception briefly brushed against the holy-grade framework."
As their discussion continued, the surrounding space suddenly trembled.
A ripple passed through the void, smooth and absolute, forcing every formation rune to align instinctively. The men straightened at once and turned toward the disturbance.
A figure stepped out of the void.
Gu Yue Xuan.
Her presence alone caused the surrounding formation to stabilize, as if reassured by her arrival. The floating runes dimmed slightly, bowing to her authority.
"Report," she said calmly, her voice neither loud nor soft, yet it carried clearly through the cosmic space.
The men immediately cupped their fists in respect.
"Holy Lord," the first man said, stepping forward. "An intruder was detected at the outer layers of the formation. Based on the resonance and fluctuation, his formation attainment reached at least the eighth grade, but I am not sure, he may even be above it."
Gu Yue Xuan's eyes narrowed slightly. "And the holy-grade layer?"
"It activated," the man replied. "According to protocol, his soul should have been captured the moment contact was made. However, the formation shows no successful restraint."
Gu Yue Xuan's gaze shifted toward the faint dot still flickering within the formation.
"No trace?" she asked, frowning.
"There was a trace," another man answered carefully. "But it vanished almost instantly. No marking, no lingering soul signature. It is as if the intruder touched the edge and withdrew before the law could fully descend."
Absolute silence there.
Gu Yue Xuan stared at the formation for a long moment. Her expression remained calm, yet a subtle seriousness settled in her eyes.
"To sense the holy grade layer and retreat unharmed," she said softly, "means this person either possesses an extraordinary soul realm, or carries a method that does not belong to this world."
These men exchanged uneasy glances with each other.
"Continue monitoring," Gu Yue Xuan ordered. "Tighten the peripheral detection arrays, but do not provoke the formation into full suppression. If he appears again, I want to see how he moves."
"Yes, Holy Lord," they replied in unison.
Gu Yue Xuan turned her gaze back to the faint dot, now barely visible.
A trace of interest surfaced in her eyes.
"So," she murmured, almost to herself, "someone down there is touching things they should not yet understand."
Gu Yue Xuan's gaze remained fixed on the formation as she spoke again, her tone calm yet carrying unquestionable authority.
"Give me the exact location," she said. "Which region of the Azure Star Galaxy was this disturbance detected in?"
One of the men immediately activated a secondary formation plate. Layers of light unfolded, forming a three-dimensional projection of the Azure Star Galaxy.
A single point glowed faintly near its outer spiral.
"It is here, Holy Lord," he replied.
"The disturbance originated from the Eastern Peripheral Zone of the Azure Star Galaxy, close to a cluster of lower worlds that remain mostly ungoverned."
Gu Yue Xuan's eyes sharpened. "Which holy formation was affected?"
"The Heavenly Boundary Concealment Formation," the man answered without hesitation. "It is the outer holy-grade formation responsible for masking the lower worlds from higher-plane perception and preventing unauthorized soul probes."
"And the subordinate formations?" Gu Yue Xuan asked. "Did any of the lower-grade arrays register abnormalities?"
Another man stepped forward and bowed. "Yes, Holy Lord. Three lower formations responded. The Spirit Vein Stabilization Formation showed a momentary fluctuation, the World Barrier Array rippled once, and the Spatial Anchoring Formation briefly lost alignment for less than a breath."
"But none were breached," he added quickly. "They only reacted, as if brushed by an unfamiliar will."
Gu Yue Xuan fell silent, her fingers lightly tapping the air. The projection continued to rotate slowly before her eyes.
"So the intrusion began at the holy-grade layer," she said, her voice measured, "and only then was its presence known."
"Yes," the first man confirmed. "Which suggests the intruder did not approach from within the lower worlds, but rather sensed the formation from outside and probed inward."
A faint chill passed through the group.
Gu Yue Xuan waved her hand, dispersing the projection. "Mark that region. Increase passive observation, but do not reinforce the formations yet."
Gu Yue Xuan paused, then asked in a low, deliberate voice, "Did the intruding soul show any connection to a Heavenly Registry Token?"
The men exchanged brief glances before one of them stepped forward and answered carefully. "No, Holy Lord. We have confirmed it multiple times. There was no resonance, no imprint, not even the slightest contact with any level of the Heavenly Registry."
Another added, "When the holy-grade formation responded, we specifically checked for registry feedback. There was nothing. The soul passed through the detection layer without triggering even the weakest registry recognition."
Gu Yue Xuan's eyes narrowed slightly. "Not even a trace," she repeated.
"Yes," the man replied. "It was as if the soul did not exist within the rules governed by the Heavenly Registry at all."
A brief silence followed.
"That makes it even more troublesome," Gu Yue Xuan said calmly. "Any being acknowledged by the Heavenly Registry, no matter how well concealed, would leave a mark. The absence of contact means either extreme concealment or something fundamentally outside the established order."
She turned her gaze back toward the three-dimensional glow of the Azure Star Galaxy in front of her.
Gu Yue Xuan's gaze sharpened.
"First, determine the exact world where the disturbance originated," she said calmly, her tone leaving no room for hesitation. "I want the precise location within the Azure Star Galaxy, the planetary layer, and the region of space it occupies."
She paused briefly, then added, "Do not speculate. Trace it through the holy formation nodes and cross-check it with the lower formations. Only after you are certain should you report back to this seat."
The men straightened at once. "Yes, Holy Lord."
Gu Yue Xuan turned back toward the shifting starlight of the cosmos, her expression unreadable.
"Find the world first," she said softly. "Only then will we decide how to proceed."
After that, almost every person present there started to engage in their work.
Soon, a few hours later!
"Holly Lord!" Bowing to Gu Yue Xuan, Du An, the head of the place, spoke respectfully.
Raising her beautiful phoenix eyes, Gu Yue Xuan looked at Du An and asked,
"Have you found the accurate world…?"
"Yes, Holy Lord, we have found it."
"That world is called…Loushi world, Heiyun City of eastern region."
"Ahh...a mere medium-level plane, have such a method?" Gu Yue Xuan calmly nodded, while she turned her head and her eyes fell towards the plane of the Loushi world.
"interesting."
