The fact that Zetsu hadn't followed the original plan and instead exposed his contingency early could only mean one thing!
Thinking that, a strange light flashed in Madara's eyes.
Now this is interesting!
If it's only me, then this shinobi world isn't enough to keep me entertained.
Just then, a voice filled with rage and grief came from ahead.
"Nagato!"
With Black Zetsu no longer restraining her, Konan flashed forward and appeared in front of Nagato.
When she saw Nagato's body—completely lifeless—Konan abruptly raised her head, glaring at Madara, her face brimming with fury and killing intent.
"I don't care whether you're Madara! I don't care who those eyes belonged to originally! All I know is they belong to Nagato—give them back to me!"
Konan's face was twisted with rage as she spat the words at Madara.
"You were nothing more than a chess piece I placed on a whim. Who gave you the courage to speak to me like that?"
Madara lowered his head slightly to look down at Konan, disdain dripping from his voice.
Konan slowly rose to her feet. She knew that if the man before her really was Madara, she had no chance.
But she still had to take those eyes back!
They were Nagato's!
Nagato and Yahiko's will would never disappear—this world of war and chaos… that will was the only reason she could keep living!
"Kami Ame (Paper Rain)!"
"Kami Yari (Paper Spear)!"
Konan barked a sharp cry, her hands flying through seals. Endless paper sheets transformed into weapons, surging toward Madara.
At the same time, Konan's entire body split into countless sheets of paper, hiding within the barrage as she rushed Madara from inside the storm.
Madara watched it all without expression. His body flickered—
—and he vanished from where he stood.
Madara plunged straight into Konan's attack. The paper rain and paper spears were dodged with ease.
Then, with a casual sweep of his eyes, Madara threw a punch toward a certain direction amid the countless flying sheets.
Konan—who had been hidden within the paper—spat a mouthful of blood. Her body was forced out of the paper and sent flying.
She crashed through several trees, snapping them one after another, before finally coming to a stop.
"Do you want to dance?" Madara asked coldly, staring at Konan where she'd been blasted away.
Konan trembled as she forced herself upright beneath a fallen, broken trunk. She wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth and roared at Madara with fury:
"G-give… give Nagato's eyes back to me!!"
With that, Konan dragged her injured body forward, gripping a kunai, and charged Madara again.
"In that case… die."
Madara's expression remained indifferent as he was about to move—
Suddenly, Madara's body paused. He lifted his head toward the distance, and a smile curled on his lips.
"So you're here."
BOOOOM!!
A terrifying presence swept in from far away.
If the aura Madara had unleashed was overwhelming power, then this new presence was pure violence—wild, furious, explosive.
A shrieking roar tore through the sky in the distance, like the air itself was being ripped apart.
In the next instant, within everyone's sight—
a streak of light appeared.
And it shot toward them at blistering speed.
Konan—who had been about to attack Madara—couldn't help freezing under that savage pressure.
She had only just started to turn her head to see what was happening when the ground in front of her exploded.
Then a figure, wrapped in a raging shockwave, slammed down right before her.
The blast of that violent air sent Konan tumbling—she fell hard to the ground.
Her face tight with tension, Konan stared at the person who had just appeared.
Then that figure turned.
A strikingly young face came into Konan's view.
The young man smiled at her.
"Sorry. I was moving too fast—couldn't brake in time when I landed."
As he spoke, Yuto extended a hand toward her.
Konan froze for a beat—then sprang up and shot backward, retreating in alarm.
She didn't know who this young man was, but his entrance alone was enough to prove one thing: his strength was terrifying.
Seeing Konan studying him with a guarded expression, Yuto could only shrug helplessly.
He turned his head again—
—and saw Madara on the other side, his mouth already split into a wide grin.
"Yo, Lil' Mad. Long time no see. Looks like I still showed up a step too late."
Yuto glanced at Nagato's corpse on the ground. Regret flickered across his face, but his voice remained unnervingly calm.
Hearing the nickname "Lil' Mad," Madara didn't care in the slightest. Instead, his grin only grew.
"Yuto! So your seal really has been undone."
"We're all dead men already. Wouldn't it be better to just stay in the afterlife?" Yuto scratched his head, looking troubled as he stared at Madara.
"The afterlife is too small to hold me."
Madara rolled his wrist, the smile on his face growing deeper and deeper.
"Rinnegan revival jutsu, huh… what a troublesome technique."
Yuto narrowed his eyes at Madara's pair of Rinnegan.
If Madara were only in the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan stage, Yuto wouldn't be afraid at all.
He was even more than seventy percent confident he could send Madara straight back to the afterlife.
After all, there was no Hashirama to back Madara up now—and with Isobu, the Three-Tails, perched on Yuto's shoulder, Yuto didn't care about genjutsu-type attacks in the slightest.
But Madara with the Rinnegan… was on a completely different level from Madara with the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan!
And more importantly, these Rinnegan had been Madara's to begin with—meaning he could unleash their power to the fullest.
That was nothing like the half-baked Six Paths of Pain or even Nagato.
The Rinnegan's bizarre techniques were simply too many. Right now, forget seventy percent—Yuto wasn't even sure he had fifty.
"You actually know about the revival technique."
Hearing what Yuto said, Madara raised an eyebrow, a hint of surprise crossing his face.
"I undid my seal much earlier than you did. With that much time, it's more than enough to gather plenty of intel," Yuto said calmly. "The only thing that surprised me… was that you could revive at all."
He had almost said "revive early," but changed it at the last moment.
A sharp glint flashed through Madara's eyes. Just the fact that Yuto had been unsealed earlier was already enough for Madara to infer many things.
