The instant Chibaku Tensei (Planetary Devastation) finished forming—
The Chikushōdō (Animal Path), who had been left outside, immediately used Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique), forcibly summoning the Tendō (Deva Path) out of Chibaku Tensei (Planetary Devastation).
The Tendō appeared in front of the Animal Path in a wretched state. His clothes were already torn to rags, blood streaming nonstop over his entire body.
Even half of his body was slightly twisted—clearly, the bones inside were probably shattered.
Yet with injuries this severe, any normal person would've already blacked out or died.
But the Tendō in front of them still stood there expressionless, silently staring at the massive Chibaku Tensei (Planetary Devastation) floating overhead.
For a corpse, an emotion like pain simply didn't exist.
The enormous Chibaku Tensei (Planetary Devastation) hovered in the sky. Even though this place was still some distance from Kirigakure, its shadow still blanketed nearly half the village.
A commotion that huge had naturally already drawn the attention of the Kirigakure shinobi.
Large numbers of Mist ninja rushed toward the village gate.
But when they arrived, they abruptly saw Mei—Kirigakure's Mizukage—leaning there alone at the gate.
"Mizukage-sama, th-this…?"
One Mist ninja quickly showed a respectful expression, but his tone carried confusion.
"It's nothing. Have the shinobi in the village go back. Just calm the civilians," Mei said, waving a hand, her voice even.
"Yes, Mizukage-sama!"
The surrounding shinobi still looked puzzled, but they nodded respectfully and turned back into the village.
Mei remained leaning at the gate, watching that gigantic "meteor" floating in the distant sky. In her eyes was a rare trace of worry.
Back on the battlefield—
Through the Tendō's eyes, Nagato saw everything and finally let out a slow breath.
The pressure Yuto had just put on him was simply too great. But Chibaku Tensei (Planetary Devastation) was, after all, a technique capable of sealing tailed beasts—Nagato still had confidence in that.
Just as the Tendō was about to move again, the enormous meteor in midair suddenly trembled.
The next instant, an earthshaking boom erupted in the sky.
The massive meteor was blasted apart into chunks of varying size, crashing down like a rain of stone.
A chakra chain shot out with lightning speed, piercing straight through the Tendō's chest.
At the same time, a dark blur had already appeared in front of the Animal Path. Yuto casually lifted a palm and lightly slapped forward.
The Animal Path didn't even have time to react before a violent force detonated them into dust.
With a thought, Yuto yanked the Tendō—still skewered by the chakra chain—directly in front of him.
"So this is the so-called god with overwhelming strength?" Yuto asked flatly, looking at the Tendō hanging in midair.
"Your strength is indeed great. But even if I fail, I am still a god walking the mortal world. Even if it costs my life, I will make peace descend upon this shinobi world!"
The Tendō stared at Yuto, his voice as calm as ever.
Yuto raised an eyebrow. "Peace?"
"With absolute power, make the entire shinobi world feel pain! When that pain spreads, fear will restrain the heart—and from then on, there will be no more war!"
The Tendō's gaze turned to the distance, his voice carrying a thread of unwavering conviction.
Hearing that, Yuto didn't sneer.
In some ways, Nagato's peace was very similar to Yuto's peace.
The peace Yuto sought was to unify the entire shinobi world and end the chaos of war—only, this world simply didn't yet have the concept of "unification."
"You're the First Mizukage, Yuto?" the Tendō suddenly asked.
"…Yeah."
Yuto paused for a beat, then admitted it outright. At this point, there was no need for him to hide his identity anymore.
"As expected…"
Deep down, Nagato couldn't help but shudder.
After seeing Hashirama's Shin Sūsenju (True Several Thousand Hands), Nagato had returned to the Akatsuki and spent time specifically investigating information about Yuto from back then.
But what he found was pitifully little. The only thing he could confirm was—
That the First Mizukage, Yuto, once possessed terrifying strength enough to resist Hashirama and Madara fighting together.
Nagato's eyes flickered. Even so, he would never surrender easily—because this was the last shred of justice left in his heart!
Just as Nagato was about to have the Tendō unleash his final power, Konan—standing guard beside Nagato—jerked her head up, looking toward a direction within the forest.
Not far from Nagato and Konan, a spiral vortex abruptly appeared in the air. Then Obito and Zetsu stepped out of it together.
"Ah, man… this place is really well-hidden. Took me quite a while to find it," Obito said, narrowing his eyes as his goofy tone reached Nagato and Konan.
Konan's expression changed, killing intent in her gaze as she stared at Obito and Zetsu.
"Why are you two here?"
White Zetsu scratched his head and grinned. "Of course we're here to ask you for help."
"There's no need for help here," Konan said coldly. Her hands beneath her cloak had already formed hand seals, ready to strike at any moment.
"Oh, Konan-dono might be misunderstanding," Obito said with a light chuckle, his eyes fixed toward Nagato. "We're not here to help you. We're here to ask the leader for help."
Nagato slowly straightened up from the special apparatus, looking at Obito with a flat expression. "Asking me for help?"
"That's right. We'd like to borrow the leader's Rinnegan."
The moment those words fell, the entire forest went silent.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
In an instant, dozens of paper sheets—sharp like kunai—shot toward Obito and Zetsu!
Traitors—die!
At the same time, Nagato's stiff face also turned icy. He raised a hand and pressed it against the air.
Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique)!
With a burst of smoke, the Tendō—who had originally been bound by Yuto—was now summoned directly in front of Nagato.
On the other side of the battlefield—
Watching the Tendō vanish without warning, Yuto's eyelid twitched lightly.
"I was just a bit short of locking onto your position… but I've already got the general direction. I just hope I can make it in time!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the ground beneath his feet cracked open. Yuto turned into a streak of light and vanished from where he stood, racing straight toward Nagato's location.
