An entire month had passed. The days were filled with Subaru designing and making clothes, Emilia studying Japanese, the two of them going on dates, and Beatrice casually bullying people on the chessboard while simultaneously learning about various subjects.
Opponent: [Wait! Are you even paying attention to the match?]
Beatrice: [Shush, I suppose. Betty is learning about the law of Gravity, in fact.]
Subaru watched this as he sweatdropped before turning back to Emilia and taking some shots for the website.
Subaru: [The camera loves you, Emilia-tan!!!]
Emilia made several poses as Subaru had taught her. That's when... there was a knock on the door. Kenichi walked down the stairs.
Kenichi: [You all ready?]
Beatrice: [Just one second, I suppose]
Beatrice clicked the mouse.
Opponent: [You can't be serious!!! How did I miss that?]
Beatrice turned off the computer.
Kenichi: [Remember. They're likely going to put us into quarantine. Just cooperate, and after that, you should be able to get identification.
Emilia and Beatrice nodded.
Subaru: (If things go wrong, I still have Return By Death. It's okay.)
He thought this to calm himself as they opened the door to a man in a hazmat suit.
Kenichi: [Taro. You're here.]
Taro: [You've caused some trouble, haven't you, Natsuki? Hiding these two from us.]
Kenichi: [Not really hiding them. Just delaying their debut.]
Taro sighed.
Taro: [Do you have any idea how irresponsible that is? What if they have illnesses?]
People in hazmat suits walked towards the family as they guided them towards the cars.

Emilia sat in a room as Taro sat across from her with a recording device.
Taro: [State your name, where you are from and explain your circumstances.]
Emilia: [Um... hello. My name is Emilia. Just Emilia. I'm a... Half-Elf from the Dragon Kingdom of Lugunica, and I was sent here along with my knight and his contracted spirit.]
Taro: [That young man and girl you mean?]
Emilia: [Yes.]
Taro: [I see. There are claims from the family that you can use magic. Is that correct?]
Emilia: [Yes?]
Taro: [We'd like you to demonstrate.]
Emilia made an Ice crystal that spun on her finger.
Taro: [Incredible. We'd like to ask for a blood sample and to put you through some tests to ensure you aren't a danger to the people of our world.]
Emilia nodded.

Emilia let some of her blood be drawn, and she was then put through an MRI scan and was tasked with some physical tasks.

Beatrice sat there as the doctor attempted to get a blood test from her.
Beatrice: [Betty already told you it's pointless, in fact.]
Doctor: [No blood. I see. Young miss. Could you follow me to the MRI?]
Beatrice: [Betty is no young miss, I suppose. She's ten times older than you, in fact.]
The Doctor sweatdropped.
Doctor: (But I'm 45 years old.)

Taro met with the Doctor and Nurse standing with them.
Taro: [Report on the Half-Elf?]
Nurse: [Her physical abilities are off the charts.]
Doctor: [She could probably take on a whole army by herself. If she wanted to leave, we wouldn't be able to stop her.]
Taro: [I see. The blood tests?]
Doctor: [She has human DNA, but it's different.]
Taro: [She is a Half-Elf, so that must be the reason why.]
Doctor: [I assume so as well.]
Taro: [Any diseases or Illnesses to worry about?]
Doctor: [No. Not that I saw from the tests. She should be healthy, and she shouldn't pose a risk to anyone around her.]
Taro: [I see... and the Spirit?]
Doctor: [We tried to get a blood test, but she has no blood. The MRI scans show nothing but pure energy. She's not human.]
Taro: [The boy?]
Doctor: [He's definitely human, but... his body is enhanced. He's capable of physical strength that he shouldn't be capable of considering his body size and shape.]
Then Taro tensed his forehead.

Taro shook his head slightly.

Doctor: [3 months.]

Subaru: [Alright. We got three months, so how about I show you the stuff that made holing up in my room not boring!]
Emilia: [Eh?]
Beatrice: [What's this, I suppose?]
Subaru: [Time to introduce you to... Anime!!!]
Emilia: [Ani...me?]
Subaru: [It'll be loads of fun. I promise.]
Emilia: [Okay, Subaru.]
Kenichi and Naoko sighed.
Kenichi: (Well, I got nothing better to do, so why not?)
Naoko: (As long as I get to spend time with Subaru.)
Natsumi reached out to Beatrice.
Natsumi: [Bako.]
Beatrice smiled as the family huddled together.

Three months passed as the family sat together. The first show they had binged was Naruto. Emilia could relate a lot to Naruto. Both of them hated for things they were born with, both trying to become leaders, and she thought it was reaaally inspiring to see him achieve his dreams and become recognised. She was sure Subaru had shown this to her first on purpose. That's just how considerate her knight was after all.
Kenichi: [I'm going to go to the gym.]
Naoko: [I'll go and talk to the doctors about dinner tonight.]
Beatrice: [Betty will make sure Natsumi is consuming educational content, I suppose.]
Subaru: [So... it's... just the two of us, huh, Emilia-tan?]
Emilia: [Subaru...]
Subaru: [Yes?]
Subaru said this, sweating a little as he turned to see a blushing Half-Elf.
Subaru: (I'm so cooked.)
She leaned in, giving him a kiss as he fell back onto the bed.
Subaru: [Wait, Emilia-tan.]
Emilia: [Subaru....]
Subaru: (She's too embarrassed to act lovey dovey with me in public, so when we're alone... she becomes like this.)
Emilia: [I love you.]
Subaru went beet red.
Subaru: (I'm so happy that I'm going to cry. But I'm definitely cooked. Even Return By Death might not save me this time.)
Subaru closed his eyes, accepting his fate as Emilia kissed him again.

Taro sighed, shaking his head.
Taro: [Like father, like son.]
Taro looked to Emilia and Beatrice, handing them forms.
Taro: [These are citizenship forms. Sign them and we'll get you passports.]
Emilia: [Passports... those are so we can travel the world, right?]
Taro: [Of course, you're prohibited from using them in that capacity for at least a year and a half.]
Emilia: [I see.]
Beatrice: [Betty doesn't have a last name. Is it necessary to fill it in, I suppose?]
Taero: [Yes. You'll need to have a last name.]
Beatrice thought about it for a second.
Beatrice: [Betty will take the name Natsuki then, I suppose.]
Subaru: [I'm so honoured, Beako!]
Emilia: [Then I'll also...]
Subaru: [Mili. I'd be happy for you to take my last name eventually, but please choose something for yourself. Something that's important to you. Maybe... something or some place you never want to forget.]
Emilia's eyes widened as she considered it.
Emilia: [Ellior. Emilia Ellior.]
She filled it in as Subaru smiled.
Subaru: [That's perfect.]
The two completed their identification forms.
Taro: [Alright. Now... we'll do some academic tests to see your academic level. Depending on that, you may have to go through some schooling.]
Emilia: [That's no fun.]
Subaru sniggered a little.
Emilia: [Don't laugh at me, Subaru. It's not funny.]
Emilia pouted.
Taro: [That includes you, Mr Natsuki. The chance to finish your schooling was cruelly stolen from you, Mr Natsuki. Consider the opportunity to continue it a gift.]
Subaru stiffened as he looked horrified, leading Emilia to giggle slightly. Taro turned to Emilia and Beatrice.
Taro: [As for you two, if it is required, consider it as goodwill from our world to you.]
He bowed to them before leaving the room.
Subaru: [Let's go take the tests and then meet up with Mom, Dad and Natsumi.]
They nodded, following behind Subaru.

Beatrice looked smug, leaving the building, having been evaluated as academically gifted.
Beatrice: [Betty is academically gifted, I suppose.]
Subaru's expression wasn't as joyful.
Subaru: [1 year of schooling. Lax Level. That seems about right, but I'm not very happy about it.]
Emilia: [3 years... Strict Level.]
Emilia sagged at this evaluation.
Subaru: [Hey, it's okay, Emilia-tan. Beako and I will help you through it.]
Beatrice: [There is no need to worry, I suppose. It won't even take two years with Betty helping you, in fact.]
Emilia smiled.
Emilia: [I'm glad I'm here with the two of you.]
They then saw Naoko holding Natsumi and Kenichi next to her. They were waiting for them.
Kenichi: [Hey! How'd it go?]
Subaru held up his evaluation as Kenichi failed to hold in a laugh.
Kenichi: [That's rough, buddy.]
Subaru deadpanned.
Subaru: (I know you did that on purpose, you shitty old man.)
Beatrice proudly held up her evaluation.
Naoko: [Oh, wow, Betty-chan. You aced the test!]
Beatrice looked smug.
Beatrice: [It is only natural that Betty aced the test, in fact.]
Emilia held up hers as Kenichi and Naoko winced and Kenichi took in a sharp breath of air.
Kenichi: [Hey. It's alright. No worries. You can take your time with this.]
Naoko: [That's right, Emilia-chan. The timeline is only a prediction after all.]
That's when a girl walked over to them.
Girl: [Hey... It's you! You're the model for Pleiades Fashion!]
Emilia: [Eh? Um... Yes... That's me.]
Then she saw Subaru.
Girl: [Natsuki? Is that you?]
Subaru sweated.
Subaru: [Um, hey Toki. How are you nowadays?]
Toki: [Wierdo.]
Toki looked to Emilia.
Toki: [You shouldn't hang out with this guy. He's a total loser.]
Emilia looked at her angrily. As did the rest of the family.
Kenichi: [Listen here, you bitch. Don't talk about my son that way.]
Emilia: [Don't talk that way about Subaru. What do you think you even know about him anyway?]
Toki: [Huh?]
Subaru: [Hey, it's okay.]
Subaru tried to calm them down. Toki had the audacity to look offended.
Toki: [Are you serious? It's obvious to everyone that he is a weirdo. I meant disappearing for 2 years? What were you doing? Trying to make everyone feel sorry for you?]
Beatrice glared.
Beatrice: [What a vile creature you are, I suppose.]
Toki: [Oh shut up, you dumb brat. Everyone talks about you, you know, the loser who ran away from everyone like a crying wuss.]
Each member of the family seemed to be contemplating ways to kill this girl.
Subaru: [Let's just walk away.]
Emilia: [No! I can't just forgive what she said!]
Toki: [Honestly. You need a girl to defend you? What a loser. She's such a pick-me, too. "Oh, look how nice I am". You think you're better than me?]
Subaru looked at her, glaring.
Subaru: [Hey!]
Toki: [Huh?]
Subaru: [Shut the fuck up.]
Toki: [Wha...]
Subaru: [I said shut the fuck up.]
Toki: [Since when did you...]
Subaru: [Say that shit again. See what happens.]
Subaru gave her a death glare as her legs went weak and she fell backward.
Subaru: [Let's go, guys. She's not worth our time.]
The family looked satisfied with the result as they got in the car and left, as Toki sat there trembling in place. She looked around, looking to see if there was anyone. There wasn't anyone nearby.
Toki: [That... that was kinda hot.]
