Before the start of the fight between Darian, Vane and Allocen against Garwhole…
"Jaune, remember that we will prepare your way towards Nysira," said Tauren, as he and Allen started to go away. In fact, right behind Mantblast there was Nysira, so it was the fastest route to take to arrive at her.
"I'll remember, just please be alright, you two," said Jaune, worried. Allen and Tauren looked back and locked eyes with him.
"We will be alright," said Allen, before he and Tauren disappeared between the woods.
"Then now we have to come up with a plan," said Darian after seeing the two men going away. Jaune turned back and got close to them.
"There are countless of them," said Allocen, watching the battlefield full of krukin, who panicked because of the mess Kael and Eros were creating.
"Should we just go there, enter, and kill everyone?" said Vane, as always clueless about what it means to build a good plan.
"Even if there is a total mess, it won't work. They would still be able to destroy all of us," said Darian. Vane watched him with a face that looked both surprised and serious, like: 'oohh that's rightt.'
While Allocen, Darian and Vane were discussing a plan, Jaune was focused on watching the krukin. 'I want to create some kinetic energy directly there… but they are all just too slow for me to do something,' thought him. Jaune could feel that he was getting close to a solution, but it wasn't there yet.
'If I'm not able to create it there… what if I could bring it there!' thought Jaune. He had got the perfect idea. He immediately stood up, and the three guys watched him, confused and surprised.
"Hear me out, guys," he said as he sat down once again next to them. As he started to explain, everyone was able to understand what he wanted to do.
"So you're saying that we should find a way to bring something there, really fast, so that you can create the wires and block the enemies?" asked Darian, a bit confused about the whole plan.
"Exactly like that, even if I don't know who might be able to do something like that…" said Jaune, thinking of who he could choose.
"I mean, I can become the fastest while I'm transformed into a buffalo, so I guess it should be me," said Vane. As always, he just wanted to go there and kill everyone like a crazy person.
Allocen then closed his eyes for a moment and immediately opened them again. "They will probably overcome you too much. What if we used Darian's shard instead?" asked him. Everyone immediately turned towards him.
"Allocen, you're a genius!!" said Darian as he started to think of a way to shoot a fast shard towards the enemies.
"Darian," said Jaune as he turned towards him smiling, "you just need to create it, I will help you make it faster." Darian nodded.
"We should go a bit further though, from here we are too close," added Jaune. Darian nodded in agreement, and they went a bit further.
"Let's go, Snowy, let's do this." Darian stopped for a moment, and Snowy fused with his right arm once again, his whole body changed once again.
Once they moved some feet away, Darian put himself on one knee and was holding his right arm with his left arm, breathing heavily. He had to create a really strong shard that would be able to kill some of them, then Jaune would do the rest.
"Are you sure your wires will be able to speed up inanimate objects?" asked Darian, a bit worried that the whole plan would fail the very moment it started.
"To be honest? I have never tried this, but this will be a good occasion to try new things," answered Jaune as he created many wires that would speed up the shard.
"Let's hope it will go well…" said Darian, breathing heavily and thinking about the first time he created something this powerful, it was against that level 4 monster. He had not seen it since he basically arrived on Earth. 'I wonder where that thing is now…' As Darian kept thinking of it, he could only shake and feel scared.
Once he arrived there he did not have anyone, he was alone. 'But now I have so many people by my side, I can't fail them!' thought him, as he gained back some certainty. He breathed heavily one last time, closed his eyes and focused on the route Jaune created for him.
He saw his three friends in the place where they were before, all waiting for him to make the move. He could not disappoint them. He then started to channel so much ice from his body, directly into his right arm. The shard was really big, almost as the one against that titan, but now his body wasn't returning to normal. No, he could feel that the strength wasn't leaving him, he was still conscious.
As he immediately fired the shard, the air next to him became extremely cold. Even though Jaune, Vane and Allocen were around 15 feet away from him, they could feel the cold. In fact, all the nature next to Darian literally froze to death.
"ARGHHHH!" he shouted, screaming. The recoil wasn't really strong, so Darian didn't jump back, but he remained still. 'I guess I'm actually becoming stronger,' thought him smiling, as he saw the shard immediately gaining speed because of Jaune's wires.
'IT WORKEDD!' thought him as he saw the shard fired at extreme speed towards the enemy battlefield. Even though the object was so cold, so it had less kinetic energy, around 10% less, the speed was so much that Jaune could create basically infinite wires.
And that's what he did. As all the krukins turned towards it, countless wires appeared and blocked them. Vane, seeing the enemies blocked, immediately turned into a buffalo and rushed towards them. Jaune moved some of the creatures in front of the shard. The wires weren't able to take everyone; the few who were free were able to rescue some of their brothers.
But the rest got killed by Darian's absurd shard. Vane was able to kill some of them as they were all surprised and had to defend themselves from the explosion. As Vane kept moving through the battlefield, Jaune created wires from Vane's body. 'Compared to the shard the wires are a lot fewer…' thought him a bit disappointed. Well, I mean, after seeing that huge thing, he could only expect something more.
"I'm going too!" said Allocen, almost shouting, as he rushed towards the battlefield. He immediately buried some of them underground. Vane turned into an eagle, and with his wings was able to create such a strong wind that pushed some of them towards Allocen's golem, which just rose from the ground.
The main problem was that there were tons of krukwyve too, so Vane's wind basically became useless. In fact, they were winning against it.
'Guess it's our time to go too, Snowy!' thought Darian as he immediately created an ice path under him. He passed on Jaune's wires that had sped up his shard to move even faster. In like 2 seconds he was able to reach the battlefield. As he arrived, he shot some shards towards the krukwyve. Distracted, they could only succumb to his power, falling to the ground lifeless.
At that moment, Garwhole reached the battlefield, surprised to see this many humans overcoming his army.
"STOPP!!" shouted him, as he moved his wings extremely fast. Everyone was pushed back, except for Allocen's golem, but you could see that it could fly away at any moment.
"Ice shard—" said Darian as he flew away, pushed back from the strength of the wind created by Garwhole. The shard wasn't that weak, but it wasn't even able to reach Garwhole, because of the strong wind he was making.
As Garwhole watched the faces of the humans, he noticed Jaune, he remembered him from the last time.
'Hehe, it will be so much fun to see his despair…' thought him as he stopped moving his wings.
"Stay focused, guys!" shouted Darian to his friends. Everyone nodded.
'The moment I created some wires from Garwhole's wings, they immediately got destroyed because of the wind. How can I stay calm…' thought Jaune, getting a bit scared of that creature. While Garwhole moved his wings he tried to create some wires to stop them, because the wings were full of kinetic energy, but the moment he created them, the wires got destroyed, they were basically imperceptible.
Jaune remembered that krukin from the time he fought with Nysira against the Hollowroot… he could feel his legs shake at the thought of that.
Garwhole flew behind a rock and grabbed a stone, the same one used by the Black Defender in the water caves.
"I hope you will be able to have fun with this creature…" said him, smiling and laughing in a weird way. As he smashed the rock, a huge portal appeared from its back. From the portal, another Hollowroot came out. The moment Jaune saw that, he fell on his knees.
Garwhole, as the Hollowroot came out of the portal, smiled and laughed amused, everyone watching with eyes full of terror.
"Well, I don't hope you will be able to resist against this huge creature, but if that happens… I will kill you all with my own hands," said him as he showed his sharpened claws.
"GET READY EVERYONE!!!" shouted Darian, as the fight against the Hollowroot started.
