"Aries!"
Karen shouted angrily, startling the somewhat dazed Aries awake.
Aries looked toward Karen, then suddenly shuddered. Although her heart was filled with shock and questions, under Karen's gaze, she still quickly returned to the Celestial Spirit World, giving up her summoned position to the Leo Celestial Spirit, Leo.
Karen had not managed to master the technique of "double gate opening." Although she had been practicing it constantly, for now, her success rate was still not very high.
Whenever battle was necessary, Karen would naturally prioritize summoning the Leo Celestial Spirit, Leo, which required Aries to return first.
Although both were Zodiac Celestial Spirits, Aries's combat power was simply incomparable to Leo's. Normally, Aries only served as Karen's punching bag for venting frustration and as a shield against suitors. During actual combat, it was basically always Leo who took the field.
"Come forth! Leo the Lion!"
Karen chanted the incantation and summoned the Leo Celestial Spirit, Leo. The handsome Celestial Spirit dressed in a suit had his eyes dazzled the moment he appeared. The starlight shining in the sky above was simply too brilliant for Celestial Spirits like them. It was impossible to ignore.
"It's that guy?!"
Looking at the scene before him, Leo felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity. He remembered now. Not long ago, he had been defeated once already by this exact kind of power!
"How long has it even been?! How did this guy become this strong already?! Is that the constellation chart of Aries?!"
Leo's mouth hung wide open, looking utterly shaken. The shock he felt was indeed even greater, because he had faced Moen directly before. The two of them had once fought each other.
Although the result of their last battle had ended with Leo "dying and exiting the field," Leo did not think the gap between them had been this enormous.
But now, at this very moment, without even seeing the other person's figure, merely being affected by the other side's aura already made him feel fear. The two sides were clearly no longer on the same level.
Stiffly turning his head toward Karen, Leo now had only one thought in his mind.
"No why did you provoke him?!"
Leo directly asked the question.
"?"
Karen was full of confusion as she looked at Leo in complete incomprehension. Who had she provoked? Why were these two Celestial Spirits both acting so strangely today? Was that guy's magic really that influential toward Celestial Spirits?
Karen looked up, her eyes filled with complicated emotions. Wanting revenge now seemed to be becoming increasingly difficult. That guy's growth speed was simply unreasonable. He was clearly two or three years younger than her, yet it already felt as though he and the rest of them were no longer from the same generation.
Ever since being defeated by Moen last time, Karen had always held a grudge in her heart. She had constantly wanted to defeat Moen and return the humiliation he gave her a hundredfold. Unfortunately, the difficulty of doing so was only becoming greater and greater, to the point that she was gradually losing all hope.
This result filled Karen's heart with incomparable fury. She increased her abuse of Aries even further, and her relationship with Leo also became more and more strained. Clearly, she had not listened at all to Moen's previous advice.
"The enemy isn't him."
Karen spoke a brief explanation, and Leo also reacted.
The stars filling the sky shone brilliantly, and all of the magical power they scattered had attached themselves to the wall of starlight not far from them. On the opposite side of that wall of starlight, meanwhile, was an endless sea of magical beasts.
"BOOM!!!"
A violent collision rang out as those magical beasts slammed into Moen's "Crystal Wall." Under everyone's gaze, countless magical beasts were smashed into pieces upon impact, with blood and chunks of flesh flying everywhere, while only that "Wall of Ishgar" remained spotless and untouched.
The thick frozen layer of corpses had not played much of a role. It was directly smashed apart and shattered by the magical beast tide. The thing truly being tested was still the "Crystal Wall."
"Boom boom boom!"
Listening to the continuous crashing sounds and watching the bloody scene, the wizards from all across Ishgar kept their nerves tightly strained.
Of course, the shock in their eyes had never faded. Instead, it only grew stronger and stronger with each successive impact.
Seeing a pile of corpses and hearing that they had been stopped by Moen's wall was already shocking enough, but compared to witnessing everything personally now, the difference in impact was not even close.
After all, at this very moment, their own lives were under threat at all times. Every one of them was cheering and praying for Moen, praying that he could hold out longer, at the very least heavily exhausting the magical beasts' fighting strength and easing some of the pressure on them.
This mindset only made Karen burn with even greater fury. She hated her own weakness, hated that even she herself had begun to think this way. She had clearly wanted to defeat that guy, yet now she was relying on him to stay alive! Relying on that guy's power!
"Bzzzz!!!"
The "Crystal Wall" released wave after wave of magical fluctuations, causing everyone's hearts to tighten in fear that this "Wall of Ishgar" was about to fail.
However, Moen clearly did not disappoint their expectations. Those waves of magical light merely caused the "Crystal Wall" to become even more stable.
"So this is the magical beast tide?"
Arriving at the Wizard Allied Forces' defensive line and looking at the endless magical beasts, crazed as though possessed and continuously crashing against the "Crystal Wall," Gray could not help but sigh in amazement. He now finally understood why Master Makarov had not wanted to bring them along.
In front of this magical beast tide, everyone could barely protect themselves. It truly was difficult to take care of others as well. The number of magical beasts was simply too outrageous. Even if they were replaced with that many pigs, dealing with them would still be troublesome.
"It's not that impressive though, they can't even break through Moen-brother's defense."
Natsu crossed his arms with a "that's it? just that?" expression. He had thought this so-called "magical beast tide" would be something incredible, but in the end, they could not even break through Moen-brother's "Crystal Wall."
"Did it ever occur to you that maybe it's because Moen-brother is too strong?"
Cana looked at Natsu speechlessly. This guy always managed to find a completely different angle from everyone else. Was this magical beast tide still not fierce enough?
"Where is Master Moen?"
Hisui looked around everywhere, searching for Moen's figure. But they had rushed over in such a hurry that they had not even found Fairy Tail's defensive zone yet, so naturally there was no way they could find Moen either.
"I'll go ask."
Levy immediately stepped forward and asked about the location of Fairy Tail's position. Before long, the group successfully found their people.
"Grandpa Master! We came to help!"
Natsu rushed up first while shouting excitedly.
"Bang!"
However, what greeted Natsu was Erza's iron fist.
"Who told you all to come here?!"
Seeing Natsu and the other children arrive together, Erza was extremely angry. These little brats had actually disobeyed orders and come here on their own!
"We just wanted to help!"
Holding his head, Natsu shouted loudly.
"..."
Looking at the stubborn-faced Natsu, as well as the other children all wearing the exact same expression, Makarov silently sighed. Especially after seeing Hisui and Lucy, who came running over from behind, the old man's expression became especially complicated.
If you asked whether he was angry, then yes, a little. After all, these children truly refused to listen no matter what. Regardless of what anyone said, they insisted on following along.
But in a certain sense, this also represented that these children all possessed the spirit of Fairy Tail. They were young people capable of carrying the hope of the future. He had not misjudged them.
Because of that, Makarov's emotions were extremely complicated. He could not bring himself to scold the children. Since things had already come to this point, there was nothing else to do.
"Since you're here, then all of you better focus and prepare for battle! Once Moen's Crystal Wall can no longer hold, we'll be facing the magical beasts' assault head-on!"
Makarov stepped forward and stopped Erza, who was still preparing to continue lecturing them. With a serious expression, he assigned all of the children into the defensive line.
"Yes!"
"Moen-brother is the strongest! He can definitely do it!"
The children all responded one after another. At the same time, they all had extremely high confidence in Moen. Especially Juvia, who stared at the "Crystal Wall" with complete seriousness, not worrying in the slightest that Moen would fail to hold out.
"I knew it."
Moen, who was currently maintaining the "Crystal Wall," split his attention and noticed the situation over here.
Moen was not surprised at all that the guild's children had secretly run over to help. If those guys had honestly stayed crouched inside the guild instead, then he truly would have found that strange.
