Chapter 252: The Path of Search
Ryan and Lillie entered the Ultra Ruin space. It was still the same, dilapidated, with numerous Guzzlord roaming the streets, searching for food.
Ryan took out his holographic communicator and tried to connect directly. However, the holographic communicator still didn't respond. Ryan frowned and said, "Strange? Why didn't we get a signal? Has no one been here?"
Lillie shook her head and said, "I don't know. I took you directly into the Ultra Desert first, and I don't know what happened after that."
Ryan put away the holographic communicator and said, "Since no one is here, let's capture the Guzzlord here first. Before, even a Guzzlord that had mastered its origin power could give me trouble for half a day, but now, we should be able to defeat it easily."
Lillie thought for a moment and said, "I still want to see the streets here, since it's similar to Hau'oli City. You go and capture the Guzzlord, Ryan."
Ryan thought for a moment, then sent out Mewtwo and Lugia, instructing them, "Take good care of Lillie and don't let her get hurt."
Mewtwo said, "Don't worry, Dad. I'll take good care of Mom."
After saying that, Mewtwo erected a shield, expelling the toxic air. Lillie rode on Lugia and entered Mewtwo's shield from Ryan's shield. Ryan watched Lillie and the others leave, then commanded Solgaleo to charge towards the Guzzlord.
Solgaleo roared, attracting the attention of most of the Guzzlord, while its battle cry boosted its attack. Since this space allowed the use of moves, Ryan wasn't going to hold back!
In its Radiant Sun phase, Solgaleo used Sunsteel Strike on the Guzzlord, slamming into one and sending it flying. But Solgaleo wouldn't give up so easily. It opened its massive jaws, and a Focus Blast formed around its mouth. After gathering its full power, it unleashed it, striking the Guzzlord and rendering it unable to battle.
"Go, Ultra Ball!" Ryan threw the Ultra Ball at the Guzzlord, successfully capturing the first one.
In the following moments, the Guzzlord suffered greatly. Facing Ryan's Solgaleo, they offered virtually no effective resistance, all being easily defeated and captured by Ryan.
Ryan held an Ultra Ball, containing the Guzzlord that had previously mastered its origin power. However, he found it strange that these Guzzlord were all weakened, seemingly on the verge of collapse, easily defeated by a single charge from Solgaleo.
Ryan scratched his head, puzzled as to why this was happening. But easily defeating these Guzzlord was still a good thing, at least saving them time in this space.
Just then, Mewtwo's telepathic message arrived: "Dad, we've found something here. Come quickly!"
Ryan patted Solgaleo, who nodded and ran in the direction Ryan indicated.
By the time Ryan and Solgaleo arrived at Lillie's location, Mewtwo had already cleared a street. There were words written in paint on the ground: "Ryan, Lillie, this is Sophocles. Gladion and I were taken to Ultra Megalopolis by Zossie and Dulse. If you see this message, we have already left. Please come over as soon as possible!"
Ryan looked at the message and frowned, saying, "Ultra Megalopolis? It seems familiar."
Lillie walked over and said, "If it's just Sophocles and my brother, then they must have listened to me and split up into different spaces. We need to hurry and clear the Ultra Spaces as quickly as possible before heading to that so-called Ultra Megalopolis."
Ryan nodded and said, "In that case, we can definitely speed things up. They've lived here for so long; they should have explored everything they need to, which lightens our burden. And since they've been taken to Ultra Megalopolis, their safety is at least guaranteed. We should capture the Ultra Beasts as soon as possible, and then we can head to Ultra Megalopolis."
With that, the two couldn't sit still any longer and jumped onto Solgaleo's back, leaving the Ultra Ruin's space.
Once outside the Ultra Ruin's space, the Ultra Space behind them instantly disintegrated and vanished. Lillie sighed, "These spaces are amazing; they just disappeared after losing the Ultra Beasts."
"Never mind that, I need to speed things up," Ryan said.
Solgaleo then plunged into another Ultra Wormhole, beginning a new capture quest. They visited the Ultra Forest, Ultra Jungle, Ultra Deep Sea, Ultra Plant, and Ultra Crater in turn, finding messages left by their respective members indicating that they had been taken to Ultra Megalopolis by Zossie. The Ultra Beasts in these spaces were easily captured by Ryan. From the messages, Ryan understood why these Ultra Beasts were so easy to deal with: Zossie had already defeated all the Ultra Beasts once, leaving them weakened.
After clearing these Ultra Wormholes, Solgaleo led Ryan and Lillie into a blue Ultra Wormhole. Ryan had been eagerly anticipating these colored Ultra Wormholes!
In the games, these colored Ultra Wormholes were where you could encounter Legendary Pokémon; perhaps they could find some here too!
"Hopefully, those who entered these spaces will have better luck," Ryan thought.
But just as he thought this, Solgaleo entered the blue Ultra Wormhole. Upon entering this space, Ryan and the others were also plunged into the ocean. Luckily, Ryan had been maintaining his Psychic shield, otherwise he would have definitely choked on water.
Solgaleo quickly ran and burst out of the water. But as soon as he surfaced, Ryan shouted to stop, and Solgaleo stopped just as quickly. That black void was only half a finger's width away from Ryan's head, almost severing it. Although he had a regenerative ability, Ryan couldn't guarantee that his head would grow back if it were lost.
