Chapter 250: A World Without Light

Zossie and Dulse brought Gladion and Sophocles to their homeland, Ultra Megalopolis.

Here, it was a world without light; everything was shrouded in darkness. Only the tallest tower in the very center of the city emitted a powerful light, contributing its illumination to this dark world.

Zossie, looking at the somewhat bewildered Gladion and Sophocles, said, "Ultra Megalopolis was once bathed in the light of Necrozma's grace, but after Necrozma went mad from losing a part of its body, Ultra Megalopolis lost its light."

Gladion frowned, glancing at Dulse's Solgaleo, and said, "Going mad from losing a part of its body, that's why it wanted to parasitize Solgaleo? Then why didn't it parasitize your Solgaleo?"

Zossie shook her head helplessly and said, "I don't know about that, but the body Necrozma lost doesn't refer to Solgaleo. I'm also wondering why Necrozma would attack your Solgaleo. You know, we have many Solgaleo in Ultra Megalopolis, and we wouldn't mind letting Necrozma parasitize one Solgaleo if only the merciful Necrozma could return."

Sophocles said in a deep voice, "If it's not Solgaleo's problem, then what is? Do you have a picture of the original Necrozma? I want to compare them and see what the difference is between the old Necrozma and the current Necrozma."

Dulse took off his visor and said, "Come with me. I'll take you to the captain. The captain knows everything you want to know. And Zossie, you and Solgaleo go to the other dimensions and bring over the rest of them."

Zossie nodded and said, "Understood. Solgaleo, Naganadel, let's go."

After saying that, Zossie mounted Solgaleo, who roared and charged towards an Ultra Wormhole. Naganadel quickly followed, and the two Pokémon disappeared into the Ultra Wormhole.

Dulse said, "Alright, come with me. If your companions are being picked up by Zossie, you'll be reunited soon."

Sophocles stared at Dulse's blue eyes and said, "I didn't expect your eyes to be blue. I thought your eyes were narrow like those visors."

A vein throbbed on Dulse's forehead, then he sighed, as if remembering something, and said, "There's no other way. As you've seen, we've lost our light and are living in darkness. Accustomed to darkness, our eyes find it hard to tolerate bright light, so we have to wear these special visors."

Hearing Dulse's somewhat sorrowful words, Sophocles fell silent. Gladion said, "Since you can traverse Ultra Space, why not go directly to Alola? It's undamaged there and can provide you with a place to survive."

Dulse shook his head with a wry smile and said, "We'd like to too. But guarding Necrozma and restoring it to its original state is the wish, or rather, the burden in our hearts, of all of us. Without achieving this, the obsession passed down through generations permeates everyone, so we won't consider it unless absolutely necessary."

After saying this, Dulse stopped talking and focused on leading Gladion and Sophocles to a building. Here, Gladion and Sophocles met Zossie and Dulse's captain, Phyco. Of course, there was also another member of Phyco's team, Soliera.

After listening to Dulse's report, Phyco nodded and said, "Welcome to Ultra Megalopolis, visitors from Alola. We are deeply sorry for Necrozma's attack on you. As Dulse and the others said, since Necrozma attacked you, it will come again. Therefore, it is quite safe for you to stay here. We will do our best to protect you, and we will send you back after successfully suppressing Necrozma."

Gladion and Sophocles nodded, and then Sophocles said, "Captain Phyco, I still hope to see what Necrozma looked like before it lost its body, as a reference, is that alright?"

"No problem. Soliera, please show them. I have some things to report, and I must report this matter to higher authorities," Phyco said.

"Okay, I understand," Soliera said.

Afterwards, Phyco left the room with Dulse. Soliera took out a disc, turned on a switch, and a three-dimensional hologram appeared above the disc. Soliera said, "This is Necrozma's original form."

Gladion and Sophocles looked at it and gasped.

Necrozma's original form was actually Ultra Necrozma. Its various parts separated and emitted a large amount of golden light, and the separated parts were connected by the light into a whole.

The original hands, which were hanging below the body, were connected by thick light and became the feet. The original elbows moved to the ends of the arms, and the entire arms hung on both sides of the lower part of the body, emitting light downwards and becoming the second pair of wings.

The original legs and feet hung on both sides of the upper part of the body. The legs were straightened, and the toes moved to the very end of the feet to become claws, which became the first pair of wings, also emitting light downwards. The original shoulders became the jaw, and the serrated shape became the teeth. Together with the original back, they formed the head, which hung above the body.

The holes connecting the arms became the eye sockets, and two beams of laser light gathered at the corners of the mouth and emitted diagonally downwards.

Behind its head, the eight-pointed star that was originally its tail separated and reattached to the back of its head, radiating a cross-shaped light. The light passed down through its jaw, connecting its neck to its body.

The upper part of its original tail spread out, covering its chest, and the light radiating backward formed its body. The three upward-pointing spikes that were originally there pierced forward. Necrozma also had a long tail entirely composed of light, with multiple upward-pointing light spines on its tail. Its original brain core had disappeared, and colorful matter drifted into its eye sockets, forming eyes that emitted wing-like light diagonally upwards to the sides.

Beside it, there was a small figure for comparison. It was clear that Necrozma's original state was very powerful and huge, far different from when it attacked them. After all, one was composed of black crystals, while its original state was a crystal that burst with golden light.

Sophocles sighed, then became interested in the technology and machinery here, temporarily putting the matter aside.

But Gladion thought of something and said, "Since it has lost part of its body, then, what happened to that lost part? Where did that part of its body go?"
