"Darkseid, do you know him?"
Diana nodded."I heard from my mother that when the old gods exhausted all their strength to defeat him, the Mother Box was split into three. One was guarded by the Amazons, one by the sea, and one by humans."
"In truth, they only defeated eight-year-old Darkseid—and that was merely a duplicate. Now he's coming back."
"Eight years old?!" Diana snapped her fingers and calculated. "That battle happened before I was born. That means he's at least five thousand years old now—so he must be extremely powerful?"
Lin Chen nodded."Extremely powerful."
Serena picked up on something else."Diana, you'll be my eldest sister in the future. I'm already more than five hundred years old."
Harley and Jill looked at each other."Five hundred years old?! You're all big sisters—we can't afford to mess with you."
Catwoman added,"The human lifespan is the shortest. After eighteen years old, you're not allowed to bully me!"
The next day, Lin Chen told everyone to keep a low profile recently. There were more and more bad people appearing.
After that, he took Diana to the yacht harbor at the foot of the mountain, where a small seaplane was already waiting.
Lin Chen waved his hand elegantly."Beautiful Diana, I invite you to tour the skies with me."
Diana's eyes lit up."Lin, you can fly too?"
"Of course. I know you like handsome guys who can fly."
Diana gave him a wink."Someone's jealous. We only held hands once after a few days of dating, you know."
Lin Chen said nothing, looking genuinely annoyed.
Diana was speechless."You have so many girls and I didn't say anything!"
Lin Chen laughed."Diana, you're really careful. Let's get on the plane."
"Double standards! Absolute double standards!" Diana shot him a fierce glare.
They boarded the plane. Lin Chen started it skillfully and checked all the instruments.
"Alright, beautiful warrior, we're taking off!"
"Whoosh!"The plane taxied over the water and rose into the sky.
Lin Chen steered it in a wide turn, flying over the police villa.
Diana looked down."Lin, there's mist down there. I can't see anything."
Lin Chen, however, could see Harley and the others waving in the courtyard.
Diana said strangely,"You can see clearly?"
"Of course."
"Lin, I have a question. When did you learn to fly?"
"Last time I returned to Gotham from Europe. I learned from Natasha Romanoff."
Diana froze."So you've only flown a few hours? You don't even have a pilot's license?!"
"Obviously you guessed right," Lin Chen smiled.
Diana nearly jumped out of the plane.
She checked her shield."From this height, I should survive!"
Lin Chen grabbed the control stick and began showing off.
He flew the plane in a heart shape across the sky, then headed southeast over the sea.
Back at home, Catwoman complained,"He's just showing off. So childish."
Then she looked at the video she had just recorded on her phone."It's pretty good. I'll post it."
Mera said softly,"The Taoist priest must be confessing to me… so happy."
Poison Ivy bumped her."He's confessing to me!"
The two nearly started fighting.
Catwoman understood inwardly.
Lin Chen had simply waved at everyone—but everyone misunderstood, or perhaps not entirely.
Blue sea, blue sky. The plane passed through clouds, flying smoothly.
Lin Chen clapped his hands and smiled at Diana."The journey is long. Let's chat."
Diana rolled her eyes."Aren't you afraid of crashing? We'd all be finished."
"What's there to be afraid of? It's on autopilot now—and I can fly, remember?"
Diana glared at him."Fine. Talk. Who's afraid?"
They bantered fiercely as dark clouds gathered. Thankfully, despite the violent turbulence, the plane did not crash.
After several hours, Paradise Island came into view.
Ahead lay thick black clouds, lightning flashing like the end of the world.
Diana said excitedly,"It's just ahead. Once we pass through, we'll be there."
Lin Chen sighed."I'm a little scared."
"You're afraid of this thundercloud?"
Lin Chen replied calmly,"I'm about to meet my mother-in-law. Of course I'm scared. And with so many relatives, I'm worried I didn't bring enough gifts."
Diana rolled her eyes."When you were chasing me, you said all kinds of sweet things. Now that you're meeting relatives, you're scared? Cheapskate."
Lin Chen laughed."Alright, it's just meeting my mother-in-law. What's the big deal?"
The plane charged straight into the storm.
Lightning crashed down, but Lin Chen controlled it just enough for the plane to pass safely through the barrier.
Ahead lay a large island, lush and green with breathtaking scenery—yet it was definitely no tourist resort. Ordinary men could never endure Amazon women.
Diana grew nervous."Hey… I'm a little scared. Bringing a man here—what will they think of me…"
Lin Chen frowned."You don't have time to worry about that. Put on your armor and grab your shield."
"Steppenwolf is here!"
He turned the plane sharply toward the other side of the island.
Ahead, dark clouds churned, and a massive beam of teleportation light shot into the sky.
Below lay the stone sanctuary that housed the Mother Box.
The round sanctuary was collapsing. Lin Chen saw Queen Hippolyta holding the Mother Box and running out.
There was no time to stop the plane. Lin Chen grabbed Diana, kicked through the windshield, and flew out. The plane crashed into the sea behind them.
"Go help your mother protect the Mother Box. I'll save the others!"
He set Diana down and charged straight into the collapsing stone sanctuary.
Inside, Steppenwolf was battling dozens of Amazon warriors.
The entire sanctuary was about to fall off the cliff into the sea. Without Lin Chen, every one of those women would have died.
"Steppenwolf! What kind of man beats women?!" Lin Chen shouted as if a god had descended. With a single gesture, massive stone slabs smashed toward Steppenwolf.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Steppenwolf was forced back, wildly swinging his axe to block."Who are you?! How dare you stop me!"
"I'm your father!"
Lin Chen fired a silver needle.
Ping!Steppenwolf's armor blocked it.
Sensing the Mother Box moving farther away, Steppenwolf leaped from the top of the sanctuary and rushed toward it.
Lin Chen did not pursue him—there were still dozens of women to save.
With a wave of his hand, he held the collapsing structure in place and opened another stone exit.
"You all get out!"
The Amazon warriors looked at him gratefully as they supported their wounded comrades.
"Handsome man, you should hurry too! It's about to collapse!"
Lin Chen shook his head firmly."You go first. If everyone isn't out, I won't leave."
The warriors were on the verge of tears.
Today was both disaster and blessing. Two men fell from the sky—one ugly and violent, the other handsome and heroic.
Beauty and justice truly went hand in hand.
Some of the women were still staring at Lin Chen in a daze. He understood—it had been years since they had seen a man, and suddenly such a handsome one appeared.
But this was not the time.
"That damn charm—nowhere to put it!"
He shouted,"Move!"
