Sighing, Ellis made no effort to get out of the carriage. What would he gain from riding with Alastair? They were traveling together either way, so he didn't see the cause of why he had to be with Alastair.
"Ellis, get down."
"I'm happy where I am, Your Grace."
He spoke without giving the duke another glance. In the next second, Ellis's hand was abruptly gripped, yanking him to the door of the carriage. About to fall, Mila saved him by grabbing his shoulders just in time.
"It was never a question. I am telling you to switch."
Alastair said, still gripping his wrist tightly. Ellis finally looked at Alastair with a frown, but Alastair was glaring at Mila instead. Knowing how ruthless this devil was, he immediately removed Mila's hands from his shoulders, reassuring her with his eyes. Mila reluctantly retracted her hands, sitting back as Ellis ducked a little to walk out of the carriage. At that moment, the wrist shackled by Alastair's hand tingled his skin.
