The dirt path stretched ahead under a soft golden glow, and Isaac couldn't stop smiling. Charmander walked beside him, tail flame crackling gently with each step. For the first time in years, he felt free. No deadlines. No reports. No endless corporate grind.
He checked his phone — or rather, his Pokémon GO System — which now had new interface tabs since arriving in this world.

He tapped on a Potion, and in a flash of pale-blue light, a glass spray bottle materialized in his hand.
Charmander tilted its head, chirping curiously.
"Don't worry, buddy," Isaac said, smiling. "This is for healing."

Isaac spotted the small purple Rattata nibbling on a berry nearby. Charmander instinctively tensed, tail flaring, but Isaac gently placed a hand on its shoulder.
"Let's do this right," he whispered, stepping forward cautiously. He crouched low and addressed the Pokémon softly.
"Hey there, little guy. We're trying to get stronger. How about a fair fight? Nothing serious — just a practice battle."
The Rattata froze for a moment, then twitched its ears before lowering itself into a defensive stance.
Isaac smiled faintly. "I'll take that as a yes."

Charmander puffed its chest and spat out a small burst of flame.

Rattata squeaked, darting forward with lightning speed before biting down on Charmander's leg.
Charmander took 5 damage!

Isaac's chest tightened. "You okay, buddy?"
Charmander shook it off and growled determinedly.
"Good… let's finish this! One more Ember!"
The flames struck Rattata squarely, sending it tumbling backward into the grass.

Isaac rushed to Charmander's side, gently inspecting its leg. "You were incredible out there," he said softly, reaching for a Potion.
A quick spray later, the bite marks faded instantly. Charmander blinked, then hopped experimentally, chirping happily.
Isaac then turned toward the fainted Rattata. "You fought bravely too," he murmured. Pulling another Potion from his inventory, he gently sprayed it over the small purple body.
The Rattata stirred, blinking at him warily. After a brief moment, it squeaked softly, gave a tiny nod, and darted off into the grass.
Charmander tilted its head, confused, before looking up at Isaac — its eyes reflecting something new: trust.
"See?" Isaac said, smiling. "We're not here to crush others. We're here to grow stronger — together."
Charmander let out a proud "Char!" and puffed up its chest.
