"So it's true," I asked one of the women in Austin's pack as she nodded.
"Yes."
So he had faced the punishment of breaking one of the cardinal rules. Eternity in Dreadmire Prison, one I heard of while working in the bar. A place even those who told the tale trembled, away from the single glimspe of sunlight, overwhelmed by darkness. An underground prison built to restrain even the strongest and most powerful beings, a place where those who entered never came out.
Some mention the screams they hear from the place, of some of the criminals being tortured. It was truly a cruel place inside. But I was happy knowing it was all finally over. He had been caught. The only fear that almost swallowed me up was thinking Loyd might have escaped in the pursuit. He didn't deserve any mercy after all he had done. He killed many, and his aims were ones I could never have dreamed of being fulfilled. He surely needed to be stopped.
