Jameson was pondering when he saw Anton, expressionless, nod in a helpless manner.
"Alright."
As soon as the words left his mouth.
Anton pulled out his phone and tapped it haphazardly.
Whoosh!
In the next second, a figure materialized out of thin air.
Batman!
Jameson's eyes widened, he looked at Anton, then at Batman, as if he'd seen a ghost.
Kler, on the other hand, was very calm, as if he had foreseen this scene long ago.
"A mind-transfer device!"
He muttered to himself, his imagination running wild as he marveled at the wonders of alien technology.
He stood in place.
Batman's clone surveyed the surroundings, his gaze settling on the Secretary of Defense, John Kler, his tone calm.
"Secretary Kler, it's a pleasure to meet you."
"Batman..."
Kler wasn't surprised that Batman knew his identity. As Secretary of Defense, his face was well-known around the world, at least to those who paid attention.
"Anton asked me to call you over... it's about the aliens..."
Kler repeated what he'd told Anton to the Batman in front of him.
In truth, Kler didn't realize that none of the three people, or rather, two of them, were actually listening.
Jameson's gaze darted between Anton and the Batman, finally settling on Anton with a hint of displeasure.
He felt that Anton claiming to be Batman earlier was just a way to fool him.
He almost got played!
Anton subtly shrugged at Jameson, which infuriated him.
If Kler wasn't present, Anton figured he'd be getting a taste of fresh bamboo shoots with pork.
"I understand!"
Batman's avatar suddenly spoke, pulling their attention back.
"Minister Kler, I have just one question."
Batman's avatar said, "What is the relationship between the Justice League and the military? Are you superiors, or are you collaborators?"
"Nominally, we are superiors, but in reality, we are collaborators."
Kler didn't hide anything.
"You know, we've investigated your information, and although we haven't gained much, we are aware of your vigilantes' love of freedom..."
Kler said, "After discussion, we decided not to interfere in the Justice League's internal affairs, but we hope that when necessary, as military allies, you can follow the military's orders and act together with the military."
Honestly, Kler's conditions were already quite favorable.
Completely lacking the forcefulness and aggressiveness that belonged to Ross.
Obviously, the Military Committee had conducted a detailed investigation into the information currently displayed by the Justice League.
Following the advice of the military advisors, they offered the most reasonable conditions, ones that the Justice League couldn't refuse.
These conditions were more persuasive than those offered when dealing with Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D.
"So, we're in a more advanced, equal alliance relationship," Batman's avatar stated. "But there's a prerequisite: the Justice League will only intervene in critical situations, such as alien invasions! Based on this, we can share intelligence, including information about this alien invasion."
Share intelligence?
Kler's eyes flashed, and he smiled, nodding. "No problem."
"Then, a pleasant partnership."
The Batman avatar nodded and glanced at Anton.
They looked at each other.
Swish!
Another figure appeared in the room.
Cyborg!
Jameson didn't even bother to exclaim this time.
As a media mogul, he was indeed the one with the least information, and at this moment, he was completely unable to complain.
Kler's eyes lit up, once again marveling at the advanced and convenient nature of the mental transmission device, and seeing what it represented.
However, Kler didn't say much.
The Military Commission was taking a conciliatory approach towards the Justice League.
After research and investigation, they believed that the common characteristic of vigilantes was that they usually rejected harsh methods and wouldn't refuse a gentle approach.
S.H.I.E.L.D. had just provided a less-than-ideal example.
In short, doing the opposite of S.H.I.E.L.D. wouldn't necessarily be right, but at least it wouldn't be terribly wrong.
Secondly, even if the Justice League possessed advanced technology, as long as the military maintained contact, they could naturally try to borrow it after becoming familiar with them. Or, with the Justice League's consent, they could send researchers to jointly study alien technology.
It was worth mentioning that if the teleporter really came from the NBE aliens, there might be more than just the one in the Justice League's possession.
The military could very well seize other teleporters from other NBE aliens in the upcoming joint operations.
Kler's thoughts flashed through his mind.
In front of him, Batman said to Cyborg, "Show them the information on the Autobots and Decepticons."
"Understood."
Cyborg stared deeply at Kler.
Kler only felt the other's gaze was ice-cold, like a real robot, devoid of any humanity. It was as sharp as a knife, scraping painfully across his face.
Then, a virtual screen was projected from Cyborg's right eye.
A giant metal planet was rotating.
"The Autobots and Decepticons come from Cybertron. We've given this mechanical race a name: Transformers."
"Cybertron orbits Alpha Centauri, and is a massive metallic planet, similar in size to Saturn. It's composed of various metallic ores and is the homeworld of powerful mechanical lifeforms that can transform their bodies between robotic and various other forms."
"The Transformers that live on Cybertron are divided into two factions, the Autobots and the Decepticons. These two factions have been in a constant state of civil war, leading to the depletion of the planet's energy resources, forcing both sides to flee Cybertron and enter the universe in search of resources..."
"For some reason, the Decepticon leader, Megatron, came to Earth thousands of years ago, and his current whereabouts are unknown..."
The atmosphere became quiet.
Kler pondered.
"Megatron..."
He seemed to have realized that the mechanical alien they had named "NBE-ONE," located at the Hoover Dam, had another name.
"But regardless of whether it's the Decepticons or the Autobots!"
Cyborg's explanation continued: "Their goal is the… Allspark, which was lost in space during the Cybertronian civil war and crashed on Earth."
"The Allspark?"
Kler opened his eyes, looking at Cyborg.
His gaze flickered: "What is the Allspark?"
"A strange, cube-shaped object," Cyborg replied. "It's the soul of the Transformers, the source and destination of their sparks. In other words, it can give life to machines, turning all the mechanical objects before your eyes into intelligent beings like humans. At the same time, it can also provide energy for the Transformers and nurture new life."
Hearing this, Kler's pupils widened slightly, but he did his best to control his expression.
"It seems you know where the Allspark is."
Although Kler tried his best to hide it, the Batman avatar saw right through his act. He spoke calmly, but his words struck deep.
