"Detected S.H.I.E.L.D. database update. Director Nick Fury is listed as deceased. Time of death: 1:03 AM."
"Hmm?" Meng Ran was a bit stunned at Little White's report. He was fine just a while ago, so how did he suddenly die?
Could it be that he was accidentally injured while going out to buy something at night?
After a moment of thought, Meng Ran suddenly realized that it was probably a faked death. After all, he still had many scenes to appear in later.
This old schemer faking his death must be quietly plotting something. Meng Ran felt it was necessary to go find him.
Thinking about this, Meng Ran had Little White locate the hospital where Nick Fury was declared dead.
"Received. Planning the route for you now." Little White quickly planned the shortest route for Meng Ran after receiving the command.
Looking at the markers that appeared before him, Meng Ran quickly went to the Hexagram Alliance's hangar.
Nick Fury was attacked in Washington, so the hospital shown on the map was also in Washington.
Meng Ran prepared to take a single-person aircraft to Washington. Since New York and Washington weren't that far apart, it wouldn't take him long to arrive.
Thirty minutes later, Meng Ran arrived on the rooftop of a hospital in Washington. He was currently closing his eyes, sensing everyone inside the building.
As expected, he couldn't find Nick Fury's figure or "corpse" anywhere in the entire building. He had already moved his location.
Meng Ran continued searching. After a moment, he found someone who should know Nick Fury's whereabouts.
Agent Hill was currently making arrangements for Nick Fury's "aftermath." Natasha and Rogers had just left the hospital.
Natasha left on her own, while Rogers needed to return to S.H.I.E.L.D. for investigation because Nick Fury had died in his apartment.
At this point, the follow-up matters had been mostly arranged, and she was also preparing to leave.
Just as she turned to leave the morgue, a black figure suddenly appeared before her, helpfully closing the door behind him the moment he materialized.
"Oh s***!" Agent Hill was startled by the sudden appearance of the Evil Ghost.
However, with the professionalism of an agent, she quickly calmed down and asked Meng Ran, "Evil Ghost, why are you here?"
"Sorry to scare you," Meng Ran said in a hoarse voice. "Did Nick Fury die?"
Hearing Meng Ran's straightforward question, Agent Hill reacted quickly.
She sighed and replied in a low voice, "Although I don't know how you found out, your information is correct. The Director is dead, attacked by a terrorist."
"We currently have no leads regarding this terrorist."
If Meng Ran didn't already know that Nick Fury wasn't dead, he would definitely have been fooled by Agent Hill's grief-stricken expression.
I have to say, even though she mainly handles administrative intelligence work, her agent skills are very high.
Meng Ran thought that S.H.I.E.L.D. agents would make excellent actors after retirement. Their acting skills were indeed superb, not much worse than even the most professional actors, and perhaps even better.
"Is he really dead?" Meng Ran didn't say anything after hearing Agent Hill's words, but continued to ask.
"I also wish he wasn't dead, but this is indeed the truth." Agent Hill didn't react much to Meng Ran's words, but still said with sadness.
To make her words sound sincere, Agent Hill looked up and met Meng Ran's Kajal Eyes.
Evil Ghost's pair of pale, narrow eyes emitted a cold gaze, and Agent Hill, looking at him, couldn't help but feel a little uneasy.
"Relax, relax, he's testing me now. I need to be natural." Agent Hill thought to herself, acting as if nothing was wrong, without any flaws.
After staring at each other for a moment, Meng Ran gave a husky laugh and said to Agent Hill, "No wonder Nick Fury trusts you so much. Your mouth is indeed tight."
"Since you're unwilling to tell the truth, I won't force you. You can contact Nick Fury and tell him I'm looking for him. See how he responds. I believe he'll be willing to see me."
Agent Hill wanted to say something after hearing Meng Ran's words, but when she came to her senses, the Evil Ghost had already disappeared. Hill looked around the morgue, but couldn't find him.
The Evil Ghost's last words made her inner thoughts churn. She wasn't sure if the Evil Ghost knew the real information, nor was she sure about his purpose.
Agent Hill quickly walked out of the morgue and then confirmed all the arrangements one last time.
After all the arrangements were in place, she thought for a long time before taking out her phone and sending a message through a very secret channel.
"The Evil Ghost is looking for you. I'm not sure of his purpose, but I haven't revealed any information."
A reply came after a while. Agent Hill couldn't help but feel a little dazed after reading the message.
"He should already know now."
"But it doesn't matter, keep the arrangements as they are."
Agent Hill reacted after seeing Nick Fury's reply.
"He didn't even consider getting real information about Nick Fury from me."
"He just wanted me to send a message, then use special methods to track me."
Realizing this, Hill felt a wave of frustration; she'd been used.
On the rooftop, Meng Ran saw the messages they'd sent and couldn't help but smile.
That's right, just as Agent Hill thought, Meng Ran knew she wouldn't reveal any information about Nick Fury, so he chose this method.
The things Meng Ran said were just to lure her in, and when she couldn't resist sending a message to Nick Fury, that's when Meng Ran would get the location.
Meng Ran had already instructed Little White to prepare, and as Agent Hill sent out the message, Little White had been tracking the signal.
Nick Fury reacted quickly when he saw Agent Hill's message, and he also guessed Meng Ran's intentions.
But the signal had already been locked, and he couldn't move it. Fortunately, it was the Evil Ghost.
Nick Fury knew that although his relationship with the Evil Ghost couldn't be described as particularly close, they were still considered partners at this moment.
And the Evil Ghost really had no reason to harm him. If the Evil Ghost wanted Nick Fury dead, he had had countless opportunities during their previous encounters.
Based on the Evil Ghost's skills and his elusive movements, if he really wanted to kill Nick Fury, even if Nick Fury knew the message, he wouldn't have any chance to fight back.
